Badass! Cant wait for more of these, hopefully Yoshi's Island gets translated tooOK, and what'll come after that? Mario Paint, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario All-Stars, Mario Kart 64? Come to think of it, I think all games of Mario and related franchises can be translated into all the major languages, including Brazilian Portuguese!
Rosetta Stone is bad and so tends to be every software tailored to softly teaching you a language instead of relying on your own will and effort.I bet you that a lot of people, especially most of those who have reviewed Rosetta Stone, would disagree with you on that one. It may or may not be the best way to learn another language, but even if it's not, it's still much better learning that way than through memorization, translation, or drills.
Also, you're not 3 years old, so your brain is not plastic anymore and you won't absorb language by pure osmosis.True, I'm not 3 years old, but people who are much older than that can learn another language easier with Rosetta Stone than with other methods. And while it is true that youngsters often tend to learn languages easier than older people, and Rosetta Stone might be rather expensive, I think it's definitely a good place to start.
Because that's more natural. The NES colors were the way they were due to the NES having very few colors to choose from. The lighter background helps separate the BG and the FG details better. I've played hacks that have backgrounds with similar colors to the foreground and it tends to be a bit visually confusing, or obfuscates details.Sorry for the late reply, but thanks for the explanation.
If this was to follow the NES colors literally, then Mario should have his brown shirt, moustache and eyes like his sprites (and that looks like it's going to be an optional patch).

Also, some of the suggestions I post are more because I think they would interesting to attempt to make.
For example, I think it would fun to remake SMB1 in SMB2u and in SMB3 just for the hell of it.
Are you aware they already did most of that in Kirby Super Star?Perhaps Vanya is aware of that; I think he might be wishing for an NES version instead of an SNES version. Kirby Super Star is an SNES game after all.
Pardon the late reply. I haven't been in this thread for a while since my hiatus isn't quite over yet ( Soon. Promise. ) I don't know of a way to remove the poll without replacing it with a new one...1. No problem at all! Due to personal issues at my home and some other things, I was unable to reply in this thread anyway.

What a weird place to grow on as a gamer. I heard it all the time. And i am from South America.So you heard it all the time in the gaming world where you live. That's fine. But I don't think I grew on in a weird place in gaming. After all, A Link to the Past is an SNES game, and not an NES one like Zelda 1 and 2 were. Although I am aware that sequels can and have had numbers in their names on different consoles (i.e. Mario Party 2 compared to Mario Party 5, 6, and so on).
As someone who lived the NES era...Do you think I didn't live during the "NES era"? Think again. I was born in '86, and by the way, I don't remember ever hearing the terms "Zelda 3" and "Zelda 64".
So why am I here? Well, I've noticed that nobody has really bothered to retranslate Zelda 3. The general consensus seemed to be that the translation is good enough and that you understand the story well enough, or that Zelda's narrative wasn't worth the effort because "nobody really cares". I wasn't quite in agreement: there are more than a few details in the game that are either left out of the English release, inconsistent with what we know from later Zelda games, or just plain wrong. Not only that, but Z3's script is just plain sloppy in a few areas and indicative of early 90s half-baked translation efforts. Even the GBA port does not fix most of its flaws. So, I made it my mission to rewrite the game's script to be, well, better. My main goal with this hack was to make things more consistent with A Link Between Worlds, to add more flavor where it helps, and cut down on wordiness and overly verbose language.It seems that people on this site like to refer to Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past as Zelda 3, like it's the sequel to Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. As far as I'm concerned, it's not. But I'm guessing people do that because it's the third installment in the Zelda series. On that note, we might as well refer to Link's Awakening for the Game Boy as Zelda 4.
