I played the hell out of this as a youth. I no longer play MMOs because of the bad behavior of people being so rampant and lack of effective moderation. That, and they have no real goal or end. I like completion in my games. There were some good memories I had with Graal, but many ugly ones too. I remember the main map having a bank which allowed a PK zone outside of it, so when people went to deposit money, they'd have PKers hunting them outside and looting them, until they made it to where you no longer dropped money for looters. That was a real pain in the ass and drove me crazy to no end. The only lasting thing that came out of playing Graal was that one of my best online friends is a veteran player of the game, though I don't think he has time these days to invest in it. I don't even remember what our meeting at the time of playing was even like, it's just that I always had him on my AIM list, then one day he got bored and started talking to me and then we became more close after that.
If we're going to talk about corruption in moderators, then DragonSpires was a good candidate. It was as if the game was being run by Beavis & Butthead. It had some good moments, but it was a nightmare seeing it's head figures being so immature and rude. I've never seen an online game controlled by such a team of blithering jackasses. But there may be some that are/were just as bad, but I can't imagine worse.
