Yeh, that's a good idea, also it's undoable with easy difficulty since the bats don't spawn in that place.

Edit: I was thinking is it too OP to straight up give Black Zero invulnerability to spikes? That'll motivate you to defeat LV4 Nightmare Zero even more

Wait, I have a better idea, I know it will be a lot of coding, but hear me out. What if after defeat Shield Sheldon, instead of guard shield, Zero gains an ability to immune from spikes (or all attacks) for five seconds per use? This will not only makes the gameplay between X and Zero more diverse, it will also eliminate the game's discrimination against Zero, since so many collectables and stage design is revolving around Shadow armor's leg part.

So I swapped some musics in TVC using the tools from this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjyFuQPNFT0

And the audio has a weird cracking issue, it's hard to described what it is like, so it's better to just check it yourself

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haL1tYnV-Vw

Pretty much every music other than the two new stages added in the UAS version, Orbital Ring and Willamette, suffered from this issue, be it stage bgm, shop menu, character select, main menu, everything. Anyone knows what could possibly be the problem?

Also, not related to this topic, but I'm using Roll's theme a.k.a. Kaze yo Tsutaete as the menu theme, the problem is it can't finish one loop in game due to some obscure restriction, how can I fix that? Thx in advance

If i we're you, I would prefer to make black zero take damage instead immune against spikes.

That's a good idea, maybe has it works like the acid rain in Inami Temple, with no knockbacks.

If it isn't anywhere on your hard drive, then that suggests something went wrong during the .NET Core Runtime 3.1 installation. Perhaps you installed the x86 version instead of the x64 version?

That is it, and what I got from the AFS file is a lot of bin files, is there any tools I can use to view them, and potentially modifying them with?

Well, that's something.

Is the file hostfxr.dll definitely on your hard drive somewhere?

I'm not sure if it's anywhere on my drive, but it's definitely not inside C:\Program Files\dotnet, in fact there's no dll files in that folder.

What do you get if you type "set DOTNET_ROOT" at the command line?

Do you mean put it in the batch file?

If you're comfortable using regedit, can you see if there is in fact anything at the specified registry location?

Nope, it's not there

Thanks, that works, but new problem ensues

Now it tells me it's missing hostfxr.dll, and I did install .NET Core Runtime 3.1 on my computer as instructed, so I don't know what I did wrong now.

This seems like a useful tool, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to use it, did someone know how this works?

That would made Zero much broken than it used to be along with armor enhancement he get.
Sure you could get them in a hard way but there's an easy way to get black zero and that way is via cheat code.

Yeah, but I mean if you cheat you already got a broken armor anyways, so why not make them both broken?

edit: Plus many stage gimmicks in X6 was designed with Shadow Armor's leg part in mind, with X6's difficulty, what looks broken at first sight might turns out to be just ok.

Do you have some links to some videos or other examples? They might provide a good indication as to how you might proceed.

From what I know there was an attempt, but it's back in 2004 and it died out, maybe there's some useful information?

https://forums.shoryuken.com/t/make-new-sprites-starting-with-morrigan/8424

Also, from my research today there are some programs that can let you swap images in an ISO file, such as Game Graphics Studio
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72oSc93v2_M&ab_channel=PES6J
http://obsrvfun.nusutto.jp/99_blank054.html

But I don't know if it let you replace sprites from a PS2 fighting game since these files might be working differently than normal images.

As for the sprites, I plan to use the CVS style Morrigan sprites made by li kun
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_-b_uQRujE&ab_channel=LiKun

Which is used in many mugen characters such as Master Morrigan and Awakened Morrigan, and it is too awesome and glorious to not be ported back to CVS2. He also makes many equally detailed CVS style sprites for other characters, very talented guy.

My goal with this project is to give Morrigan a much better sprite work that fits with the rest of the casts while retain original gameplay. Tho I'm not very skilled in modding, I'll try my best. If anyone is also interested in giving Morrigan a better sprites and wants to work on this project too, than by all means, take it over, I don't want credits for anything, I just want to play a game where Morrigan doesn't look like she has "low effort" writing all over her.

There were some, but they were never finished, so I hope to finish their work this time.

I want to replace CVS2's Morrigan sprites with better ones which fits into the game's art style more.

Is it possible to bind Zero's Sougenmu into a command like how guard shield works in MMX6 tweaks?

I would be neat if possible to tedit the space between the spikes on that part. So it would be easier to reach whit Zero and no need to use the bats and the I-frames

Yeh, that's a good idea, also it's undoable with easy difficulty since the bats don't spawn in that place.

So I'm doing a Zero-only run now and I wonder if there's a way to give Zero the ability to be immune of the spikes, like how dark hold works in the Megaman X5 improvement project. Otherwise it will be super annoying for Zero to collect the items in the last part of the Inami temple stage

(Just to clarify, everyone: as I’m not actively working on this these days, I’m answering questions/requests based on what’s already implemented and documented. If it’s related to something already well documented and can be done modifying a line or two, I’ll help, but if it’s something that requires new custom code, then no.)

Hmmmmm, ok, I know I'm asking a lot, but is it possible to get the free move on Falcon armor as soon as I get the leg parts? I totally understand if that's impossible without adding custom code.

I can't pin it down to Falcon without adding custom code, but removing a single check will make it available for all armors (and make Gaea's Buster very broken when used with the Special button as a bonus lol).

Code: [Select]
BIN Address:         43F8C
HEX Data Original:   25006214
HEX Data Test:       00000000

I still prefer to have it tied to the Falcon Armor's hand parts, but this will do for now. In addition, I reckon the Fourth armor is still a bit too OP, can you maybe remove its ammo reduction feature as well? Thank you for all the hard work mate

So, I know the graphics are broken, but if I really want to charge the special weapon with Falcon armor's arm part, is there a way to hex edit that into the game?

Also, is there a way to make the sigma virus accumulate throughout the entire stage(without resetting every time you dies)? So it actually post a threat to the player for once.
