Title: Dracula X SNES - Building a level editor
Post by: JUg on July 02, 2022, 10:26:46 PM
In the past, I built a level editor for Gyromite that basicly took used the hex code from the rom to generate a new set of code using the level editor which the user could then paste over the original data.

I was able to do this because someone helped me find the level data inside the ROM. Can this be done with the Dracula X SNES ROM file?

Is it also possible to expand the ROM for an eventual "Rondo of Blood" semi port to the SNES?

Anyone know where I should start looking in the ROM for level data?

Any help would be amazing!

This was the first thing that came into my mind as soon as I read the title. I hope this gets traction.

It would be nice. Though Dracula X would need extensive hacking to get stuff like Maria playable and adding missing bosses in. Hell, I think it would need for the game to be dissassembled and modified with more programming to be able to do that. I believe making Dracula X able to save your game is possible already with a hack someone did though, so thats at least doable.
