Title: Patching problem
Post by: Baofu on January 27, 2022, 12:16:33 pm
Hello, you all!
I'm new here and don't know if this is the best place to ask for help. Sorry if it isn't.
I'm trying to patch Persona 2: Eternal Punishment with the Debug Menu Patch (https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3069/), but it does not work with any ROM I get. Using https://www.marcrobledo.com/RomPatcher.js/ I always get the "X not implemented: secondary decompressor" message. I have no idea what it is, and I'm totally new to ROM hacking. Just wanted to relive my favorite game using some features from this hack.
I appreciate any help, and thanks in advance.

Thank you for including links in your post.

Does the md5 of the file you are trying to patch match the md5 provided in the readme? It is useless to try different .bin files if they all have the same md5.

And of course you can try a different patcher, such as https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/704/ .

Thank you very much for the reply!
The MD5 match, and this new patcher you posted worked perfectly. XD
