Title: Dreamcast GDI "Rebuild" ?
Post by: eugmak on February 27, 2020, 06:06:44 am
Hello RomHackers. There is one particular old game for Sega Dreamcast and I would like to "get" music from it. See, these music files are not regular sound files, but more like Dreamcast's own music sequencer files (like MIDI), so I can't just extract it from GD using Win10 machine. Usually in this case I just disable sound effects in game and record music using my Capture Device (Elgato HD60), but in this game you can't disable sounds. So I decided to make a copy of this ROM, then delete or replace sound effects from it. There is no need to burn it to CD, because my Dreamcast reads games from USB drive. I found GDITools utility and was able to extract all the files from GDI into Folders, but I have no idea how to make these extracted files back in it's readable for Dreamcast form and I couldn't find any info on that. I feel kinda stupid, because I feel it should be obvious, but it's not to me  :-[
Any advice would be appreciated.
