Title: Metal Slader Glory .ips format patch

Hi all,

I've owned Metal Slader Glory for a while and have been waiting for the translation patch, which I am aware is released. However for the translation to work on my Retro Freak I need the patch in .ips format.

I've looked at a program called MultiPatch (for Mac) from the website but I was unable to create an .ips patch from the .bps one...

Can anyone help or is there plans for an .ips version?

Can you apply the bps yourself to a ROM?
Then you could make your own IPS patch with any IPS-making program, using the original and translated ROMs.
(I mean, IPS is such a common and simple format that surely someone has made a Mac program for that by now.)

Just so you know, the game will run, but like many rom hacks that change the code too much or have special features, the Retro Freak will bug out and won't allow you to resume or load state.

Another thing you should know is that IPS isn't usually used for expansions since IPS doesn't handle those very well, and the patches often include big chunks of the original ROM.  I should probably replace my patch for 4 Nin Uchi Mahjong with a BPS patch.

Thanks for the replies however I don't have technical knowledge regarding patching. So far all the translation patches for my games I got from the ROM Hacking website have been .ips and have worked perfect on the Retro Freak. I wasn't aware of .bps type patches until I downloaded the Metal Slader Glory translation.

1) Use program to Apply BPS to Japanese ROM to create English ROM.
2) With original Japanese ROM and English ROM, use program to Create IPS. Use Japanese ROM as "Source" and English ROM as "Modified". Now you should have the IPS file you want.
