Let's hope it doesn't end like the OUYA...

How on earth are you supposed to hit those tiny start/select buttons when the thumbsticks are in the way?

I knew I wasn't the only one who noticed those.

Okay upon closer inspection, there appear to be 4 buttons in the middle, not just 2.  There's the two being blocked by the thumbsticks, and two below them which presumably are meant to be used for start/select.  They're much more accessible.

Does anyone mind if I pour scorn on this? :D

So instead of using the official pads bundled with each system, I pay (a lot) extra for a third party one? Setting aside the fact that I doubt it would feel as nice as a genuine official controller, what pressing problem does this solve? For those people constantly playing both their PS4 and Xbox One and having two pads is SUCH a hassle?

It feels like a solution in search of a problem. It's like those universal remotes, but they at least have some use because you tend to use appliances simultaneously, unlike with games consoles. Also, maybe I'm alone, but if I play a console, I want the authentic experience. I bought a NES USB pad off eBay for $2 because playing emulated NES just feels right like that.

Sorry, but buying a pad to replace things I've already got seems pointless to me.

Also, "Having already passed $115,000 at the time of writing, the gaming community has embraced it; because of this we will see the controller become a reality". Woah woah, hold your horses there. A successful Kickstarter campaign ain't a guarantee of anything. :D

If you are some schmuck like me who can only afford rent to live in a small room, this means less space to fill up in that small room and less stuff to put in Public Storage.

Does this controller have auto-fire and slow motion like ye old controllers from days of yore?

The name is even misleading, as it can't connect to any retro console. RIP PS2, PS, SNES, N64, XBox, Genesis, Dreamcast, Master System, NES, and Atari(s).

Maybe they mean "if you play emulators".

Besides, it claims in the video to allow you to play "every game ever", when it can't even play Duck Hunt. The only halfway useful thing about this is that it can program buttons itself without relying on the host to do it, but I don't think that makes it worth anyway near the asking price.

I get that PS4 and Xbox One pads are awfully similar, but who has both consoles anyway, and if so, why would having two pads bother them?

Well nintendolife don't seem to get it so not expecting much I went on the kickstarter to see if more was there (I guess I am an optimist after all)
Before that though no rollerball or rotatable knob? No mention of being able to use the screen as a nice VMU replacement for a dreamcast? At this rate I might as well stick with my wired 360 pad.

Those triggers/bumpers? All the dirt going in there, or is that line in the back acting as a dirt trap by itself to prevent that? No discussion of switch types but in the prototype showcase they appear to have mechanical switches for the dpad for some of them. Sadly the main face buttons appear to be membrane, though the extras are not.
That looks like a bit of slop in the dpad as well. At least it has a depression in the middle.

Can't see any markings on the shells, feature sizes are not bad though. Screw threads on the rumble photo show no metal inserts but I suppose you are not going to be taking it apart all the time.

[insert comment to bait the macros = cheating set] and I think I am done. Nothing I am feeling the need to be excited about.

This product is utterly pointless. Take a used controller from any 32 bit or + system and buy a USB adapter. Problem solved for $15-30.
