Title: Super Mario World Graphics hacking

hello i want to make a graphic hack it is my first hack so i am not that good, i am using tile layer pro, hacking super Mario world (a .smc file) the problem is that is just a bunch of colours (what i like to call clown barf) there are no sprites what so ever please help

Because the SNES uses 8x8 pixel tiles to make up its sprites. You'll almost never find a clear sprite.

Super Mario World compresses its graphics. Get Lunar Magic. Find a tutorial about uncompressing the graphics with it. You can also use Lunar Magic to insert your new graphics back into SMW.

Edit: apparently the red mushroom button extracts the graphics and the green mushroom button inserts new graphics.
