Title: Where to find Russian game translations?
Post by: Celice on May 25, 2015, 03:49:47 am
I checked romhacking dot net, but there are very few. I have been learning Russian for a few months and am getting far enough that I want to try playing some games exclusively in Russian.

For example, I found this picture of Final Fantasy III DS in Russian, but cannot find where to download it!

The Zelda series has a good number of games fan translated to Russian as well, including A Link Between Worlds!

Does anyone have an idea or know any resources that will help me find more Russian fan translations? Thank you :)

There is 35 Russian language translations on this website (RHDN) already (http://www.romhacking.net/?page=translations&languageid=2&perpage=20&transsearch=Go). I belive the bulk of the patches are hosted on specific Russian language community sites, if you already know the language then a Google search for "Russian ROM translation patch" in Russian should probably give you what you need.

Can't contribute anything worthwhile to the topic, but I had to chime in to say that the shortened board preview from the main page for this topic is priceless.

There were a lot of unlicensed/pirate Russian games in the cartridge era. Barver Battle Saga: Tai Kong Zhan Shi had a Russian localization as a "Final Fantasy" game.

Good example, but as someone who beta tested that game's English release: Do not play this game. It is bad. Very bad. The end.

"That Russian translation is horrendous. Also the Chinese title "Space Warriors" is what Final Fantasy was in Taiwan."

OMG!!! Russian translation??? This is not a Russian translation. This is the Chinese Pirates fake-Russian "translation". Translated drunk or stoned Chinese with the help of Google.

Imagine that you have never learned Russian. You do not know the Russian alphabet. And you are forced to make a translation of the text for 1 night ...

Thanks for the help and info, everyone. Between this thread and the one I made at GBAtemp, I have a lot of great games to practice my Russian with... when I learn more of it!
