Mega Man IV Simplified is finally here and it's the best Simplified hack yet!  This hack provides players with more firepower (each weapon only uses 1 bar of energy) along with more weapon strength (every boss falls far more easily to the weapons) and much, much more!

For more details, please check the RHDN Project Page and give it a download:  http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2219/

Also be sure to give these other great hacks a whirl.

Yea, if you want simplified, why make the bosses immune to any weapon?

Looks more like an advertisement than a rom hack.

I like the palette changes to SMB Reved Up, but I've no need of a ramped-up difficulty.

If you have a couple hours to throw around sometime, could you perhaps do a simple palette hack of SMB?

I tried once, but it didn't turn out so well.

Simple palette hacks won't be accepted here though.

I have a simple solution to that Spooniest,  I could update the zip file of Super Mario Bros reed up with a separate patch with just the palette change without the level edit.  Unfortunately I won't have a chance to work on these updates till Monday.  Have a heavy schedule with work and family till then.

Take your time. If it's not till next year I won't make a peep.

Thanks for thinking of me!

That didn't happen to me when I play tested it.  I'll have to take another look.  What emulator are you using?  I play test my games on FCEUX, Virtual NES, and the real NES hardware via the Ever drive N8.  I'll do my best to see what the problem is and fix it.  Sorry for any inconvenience.     :(

I was using Nestopia Plus! v1.4.0.9
I tried three different roms (One from GoodNES 3.14, another from DGemu and finally a rom i had on my PC) but no luck getting past from there  :-\

I'll be able to look into it later tonight and hopefully I can find what's causing you to be unable to finish the level.  Thanks for bringing this bug to my attention.   Have you had any issues with any of my other hacks?

I just playtested that part of 8-4 castle on FCEUX v. 2.2.2, VirtualNES v. .89, and Nestopia v. 1.40 and didn't have any problems accessing the part of the castle after the water area.  I don't understand what's preventing you from finishing the game.   :-\  The original ROM I used was the GoodNES (Super Mario Bros. (W)[!].nes), so I don't see how that could be the issue if you used the patch on the very ROM I created the patch from.  This is very puzzling.   :banghead:

I'm glad that you've been able to play my other hacks without any issue and enjoyed them.   ;D  I just wish I could figure out how to prevent the bug you're experiencing, but I cannot seem to replicate it to solve the issue.  Is it possible you could somehow make a video of you experiencing this glitch or try downloading FCEUX?   I really want to try to find out how to fix this issue.

Actually, you're hack is what inspired me to make my color changes.  I just wrote a quick review on it.

That is so odd.  I don't see you doing anything out of the ordinary in that video.  I'm stumped on why the game won't let you continue.   :-[  If I can't find a problem, I can't fix it.  I'm going to upload a video of me playing that spot as well and you will see you're not doing anything different from me.  This is baffling.   :banghead:
Youtube isn't accepting the file that fceux produces as a video file.  How do I convert it so it can be uploaded?

Googie, No Mega Man 6 Simplified.

I'm currently working on Castlevania III Simplified.  Once that's finished and posted, I'll get to work on Mega Man V Simplified and Mega Man VI Simplifed.

Oh , no problem , i'll keep trying different stuff or dumps  :)

And this is what i did when i recorded that youtube video:
Click on "File" > AVI/WAV > Record AVI > name your video
(http://i.imgur.com/kSDe0Jl.jpg)

A dialog will appear , you can select your preferred codec (I used Xvid codec for that little video)

Make your longplay/demo,etc and when you're done just click on "File" > AVI/WAV > Stop AVI
And that's all i did :P i uploaded the video to youtube without any problem (my video had no audio because i disabled it on the emulator)

The ROM identified in the hack page is what GoodNES identifies as "(JU)(PRG 0)".
As I understand there's at least three versions of SMB: 2 versions of the NTSC ("JU"), and a PAL version.

@Megafield64: Suck,
rock5easily's Rockman 6 Editor doesn't support US version of Mega Man VI.

Use Japan ver. of Mega Man VI called "Rockman 6 Simplified", you can edit level via Rock5easily's Rockman 6 Editor.

SMB Simplified and Mega Man 1~4 Simplified with Gameplay/Playthough on Upload to Youtube.
FceUX Emulator and Open ROM SMB or MM with Hack, File -> AVI/WAV -> Record AVI... -> Save AVI your Desktop or My Videos Folder.
Select Compressor Cinepak Codec by Radius or Microsoft Video 1 -> OK, AVI Recording and Let's Play Game with ROM Hack.
File -> AVI/WAV -> Stop AVI and Close FceUX Emulator, Edit Video using Camtasia Studio.

Try Camtasia Studio not like Windows Movie Maker.
Resize Dimension 256x224 or 256x240 for PAL ver. to 720p HD (not 480p or 1080p) and Save MP4 or AVI.

My Korxroa's Uploaded Mega Man 4 Simplified by Megafield64 Full Playthough -> 720p / Size 173 MB / File Type MP4 / 50 Minutes.
No Legal Game Mega Man 4 ROM Hack on YT, Isn't Capcom Sound Theme (Set No Audio via Audio Settings in Camtasia Studio).

Wonderful! I love this! I'm so sick of ROM hacks making games HARDER. I like my games to be easy, and therefore I never get to enjoy anything like this.

Mega Man is a game I like in theory, but not in practice  - far too difficult. This will be sweet! I loved Mega Man 10 on easy mode.

Here's the video of me playing through 8-4 and completing the castle.  As you can see, we both essentially did the same thing.  I don't see how the game is preventing you from continuing.
