Title: Deciphering a graphic
Post by: Pennywise on September 21, 2014, 09:40:50 pm
I've got a challenge for the folks here. So there's this graphic that randomly appears on the stage select and on one seems to be able to make the upper character. I'd appreciate some help with this!

Looks like みなしの: https://www.google.com/search?q=みなしの&tbm=isch (https://www.google.com/search?q=みなしの&tbm=isch)

EDIT: Eh... It actually seems to be みよしの according to the first Google result: http://detail.chiebukuro.yahoo.co.jp/qa/question_detail/q1010769735 :P

Google images where it's seen more clearly: https://www.google.com/search?q=みよしの+花札&tbm=isch (https://www.google.com/search?q=みよしの+花札&tbm=isch)

While the text at first seems to be みなしの,
it makes sense when you look at the google picture that it would be みよしの as the left part of な is actually the beginning part of the し character that is under よ.
Said card with the みよしの text on it seems to be from the Hanafuda game.
If you have seen the Summer Wars anime movie, they play Hanafuda in it.

I was going to post the same thing. It's a red scroll cherry blossom card from a hanafuda deck. That's the standard text on the card.

You can also play koi koi, a game that uses the hanafuda deck on Clubhouse Games DS.
