The Hardest Final Bosses or Secret Bosses

I want to have a little fun with this topic. What are some of the toughest final bosses or secret bosses that you've encountered and either had an extremely difficult time beating or just never have beaten?

Here are a few of mine!

Lapis - Legend Of Legaia (PSX) - There was just no chance of beating him under level 50. With no magic and this boss hitting harder than Mike Tyson.

Sephiroth - Kingdom Hearts 2 (PS2) - It took a long time for me to survive his 1st 2 barrages of attacks efore I got the hang of fighting him.

Magneto - X-Men (Genesis) - It was hard for me to get a hit in before he activated his shield. It took me weeks to figure out how to beat him.

Trypticon - Transformers: War For Cybertron (PS3) - He was a massive nightmare to eat.

Why the heck are you posting in bold..?

Toughest thing in recent memory would be the final boss of the True Arena in Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS). It takes a good twenty minutes to get that far, and by then you can really only take another one or two hits – and of course it's completely exclusive to the True Arena, so there's no way to know what's coming.  I don't think it's a spoiler to say that it ends with a one-hit KO attack and knowing how to dodge it in advance is highly unlikely.

I have yet to defeat Mega Satan in The Binding of Isaac, but there's a lot of RNG there.

My contribution is the first phase of the final boss in Wario Blast Featuring Bomberman! for the Game Boy, which is damn near impossible to hit.

The rest of the battle is fine - it's just the first bit that's problematic because unlike all of the other bosses, it only gives you an ultra-miniscule window of time to hit it, and it doesn't make that window very clear. :P

Anyone would be forgiven for mistaking it for a glitch that's causing hits not to land at first glance, but once you learn how to hit it you discover that it's actually intentional! It's brutal.

I sure spent a lot of time playing that one, even though it wasn't very good. Took a little practice, but not so bad. I figured out pretty quickly that you can reliably score a hit at the start of the battle just by riding straight up to it and dropping bombs the right way.

That reminds me, some of the bosses in the original Bubble Bobble Game Boy port are kind of a pain, especially with the limited viewing window.

Yep, and you can get at least another hit in right after that if you time it right. It's not so bad after you know that! :D It's just a shame it's not like the rest of the bosses, which were more fun.

Elixirel from Gundemonium Recollection. maybe not the strongest in the world, but sure feels like it on the harder difficulty levels, due to her absurd number of tricky phases.

other than that, Hollow Knight's Hall of Gods bosses come to mind.

Gonna go with Culex from Super Mario RPG. That one took me a good long while before I finally got round to settling his hash. He's pretty merciless.

It's also kind of hilarious that Nobuo Uematsu worked on the game and Culex's Psychopath (aka Libra in the FF games, tells you enemy hp) "timed hit" quote is "A bit off, you say?" I can only presume he's referring to the SMRPG Sound Engine version of Final Fantasy IV's "Boss Theme," which plays when you fight Culex.

Giga Cardia, from Shovel Knight: King of Cards, was a test of my patience. She's a secret boss that took me 3 straight hours to finally beat.

She's nothing compared to Trio Star from Version 6 of Mega Man 8-bit Deathmatch. A Punch-Out style arena fight, but your opponent can use massive projectiles when you can't? Talk about brutal. I can't even divulge how long I spent on that one. :P
Mega Man 7 > 3 > 2 > 9 > Wily Wars > 10 > 5 > 6 > 4 > Powered Up > V(GB) > 1 > The Power Fighters > The Power Battle > IV(GB) > III(GB) > II(GB) > Dr. Wily's Revenge(GB) > 8 > Mega Man and Bass > Mega Man (Game Gear) > Mega Man and Bass - Challengers from the Future

Well, you can always just go level up some more. He has finite FP (which seemed like a very odd feature), so it's just a matter of outlasting him in the end.

If I had to pick a turn-based RPG boss, then I'd probably go with the final secret boss in Bowser's Inside Story. The game does tell you directly what level you should be at before attempting it, but getting the necessary XP is just so utterly tedious. (And it's not all that easy even at the appropriate level.)  I never even bothered with Dream Team because just finishing that was tedious enough.

On that note, getting a perfect score on the Final Remix in Rhythm Heaven Megamix is a rather grueling 4-minute ordeal requiring exact precision. But maybe that doesn't count.

Mr. Sandman from the Wii version of Punch-Out!! (despite the fact that DK's even tougher than his rematch fight).

Pluto on tales of phantasia is very brutal, its laughably easy on gba since you can just spam demon fang over and over again(but that version is awful anyway so it doesn't count), but on ps1 he floats higher up so it doesn't work, but on the psp X version(the best version FYI) hes even harder since you cant abuse the arte shortcut to stunlock the other enemy with Chesters rapid-fire arte

Once you know the tricks – as demonstrated in the numerous available speedrun videos - they go down really quickly. It's just a matter of getting in the right position and unloading some missiles. (But of course there's really no indication as to what that position is.)

Well, to not get too personal, but I have issues with my eyes and have trouble seeing standard font at times.

Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - The Forgotten One  -  It took me 40 tries to barely beat him

Has it occurred to you that you could enter your text and then remove the bold option afterwards..? But let's not get off-topic.

You could just change your browsers font settings instead, or get bigger monitor  ;)
