I'm stoked to see you still working on this project! I absolutely love the Zero games, but I agree that some of the requirements tried to go a little *too* hardcore. I'm definitely hoping that you'll eventually do patches for 3 and 4 to at least make EX skills always acquired regardless of rank. Those last two feel pretty well polished as-is, but that one little fix to bring them in line with the new versions of 1 and 2 that you've provided us would just make the whole series feel consistent, and I'm here for that.

If you're planning even more polish for Zero 1 then so much the better. It's a great game, but it was really rough compared to the later entries. Love all the ideas you're putting forward and honestly can't think of anything else that could be added beyond those suggestions. Don't work yourself too hard, and best of luck with the future tweaks and patches!

Thanks for the kind words. I'm really enjoying dreaming up what I'd do to fix these games. I actually ENJOYED playing MMZ1 for the first time in my life, so that was already exciting enough.

I'll note that his MMBN Virus patch does not seem to work for me.

Sweet! Didn't realize he'd done that. Now I just have to be patient until one or the other of you decides they wanna do 4. :P

I'll keep my eyes out for updates. Looking forward to seeing what sort of further awesomeness you deliver.

I made a major hacking breakthrough tonight on MMZ1. I have cracked the Cyber Elf index and bitfield, and I have found the location in the code that loads in the index number of the Elf that creates onscreen.

If that sounds like jargon, here's what it means: I can swap the locations of any cyber elves in the game. I can't, at this point, make all cyber elves unmissable, but I CAN move all of the ones that give permanent upgrades to non-missable locations. Now, to figure out where all of those elves are supposed to go...

Great to hear. At least the progress is something.
