Update By: ShadowOne333

It's long overdue, but today is the day, Super Mario Land DX v2.0 is out!

This update brings a lot of new features and bugfixes from the original v1.0, which from toruzz's own words: "Many people will consider it the real v1.0."

So, what can you find in the newest update?

* Framerate issues have been addressed. That includes issues in the original game, especially noticeable in 3-2 (hard mode).
* Mario's sprites have been revamped. They are mostly the same size as the originals.
* Mario's relative position when jumping has been fixed. This was responsible for the weird collision issues in v1.0 (yeah, it wasn't the sprites).
* Luigi has been added. He has slightly different physics.
* Old graphics are now an option. Not all graphics are unchanged, as it mostly affects the sprites, but this should be good enough for people who didn't like the new ones.
* A shortcut to difficult mode has been added.
* New palette for Superball Mario/Luigi.
* New animation for Super Mario/Luigi when looking up.
* New animation for Super Mario/Luigi when entering a pipe.
* Options menu added to accommodate the new options.
* Battery added to permanently save your options, top score and level selection.
* Every single stage's colors have been tweaked.
* An incompatibility screen for the original Game Boy has been added.
* Hundreds of minor (and not so minor) changes and fixes.

What are you waiting for?
Relive the first outing of Mario on the GameBoy with a brand new look and polish!

I've been sleeping on this one for awhile now - the latest update just looks too good to hold off any longer.

Looks amazing, nice work!!

Someone help me out here. I just beat it on normal and I haven't figured out how to use the level select...

The Relevant Link on the Front Page currently links to the project's GitHub page, which isn't useful for most people?  The RHDN Hack page is not linked on the front page.

Things are fine.

All is fine indeed, except my eyes apparently!  I've frequented this site for ages and never noticed the links at the top of the posts.

To be fair it's not a good place to put that link, it would make more sense to have it also down in the footer like this;

ShadowOne333

Yeah that's weird.
I for some reason thought both the relevant link and the RHDN link were at the bottom of a news post, guess I was wrong.

I'd also vote to have them both at the bottom left like in the above example.

Can someone share a direct link to the IPS patch? I can't find it on the GitHub page.

Is it just me or are both the "Relevant Link" and "RHDN Page" now showing side to side on the bottom left? :D

It's just you ShadowOne, you seem to be going crazy, did you take your meds?

Spoiler
Na, powers that be seemed to have changed it.

Damn, my midday medication! :-\
Taking it asap.

In all honesty though, thanks to whoever made the change, it helps a lot for having quick and easy access to the hacks on the News Posts. :D

THANK YOU. You don't know how much does this mean to me because I couldn't play the v1.0 (It always showed an error on my emulator)

This is fantastic and looks professional! Out of sheer coincidence I happened to be looking for this the day before the newest patch. I had a weird issue where the rom would run fine in an emulator but when trying to inject into .cia file it would boot the title screen fine, but if I began the game Mario instantly dies. I did the following:

1.) Downloaded the .ips file
2.) Found the right original game backup and verified the crc.
3.) Patched with LIPS (also tried the built in .ips patching functionality of NSUI)
4.) Verified the resulting patched rom ran fine in retroarch on a pc.
5.) Injected using NSUI Beta 28.

I've tried it quite a few different ways at this point. Always the same result. Any advice at all on how to troubleshoot from here ? The number on the top left also auto increments quickly while Mario falls off the screen. I assume I'm doing something stupid but cant spot it. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I too made a .cia file to play on 3DS and have the exact same thing! Mario just keeps dying instantly, over and over. The ROM itself works fine in a PC emulator. What a weird quirk!

I remember having this for Gameboy back in the day and thinking how hard it was but I still managed to beat it. I still find it hard and to see that it was made even harder :o I wasn't able to beat it on hard mode without cheating unfortunately. Amazing hack.
