Hello ,

The Japanese version of Castlevania Bloodline called Vampire Killer has an easier difficulty.

Would it be possible to restore this difficulty to the US version and to restore the texts even if it's true that this hack already does the job but it doesn't restore the difficulty of the title to the Japanese version.

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5891/

Moreover, would it be possible to transfer the title screen of Castlevania: The New Generation from the Pal version to the US version to have an uncensored European version.

I know some people will make fun of the restoration of a lighter difficulty but thanks for taking the time to read me. :)  :woot!:

Hello ,

Will it be possible to create a hack that restores the difficulty of the Japanese version of Double Dragon 2 NES

Especially to be able to couple it with these 2 hacks

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1825/

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1120/

Ultra Easy version

Difficulty Differences

The Japanese version allows the player to go through all nine stages on any difficulty setting, whereas the international versions restricts the game's length on the lower settings: PRACTICE ends the game on Mission 3, while WARRIOR ends on Mission 8, leaving Mission 9 accessible only on SUPREME MASTER.
Continues are available by default in the Japanese version, whereas the international versions require the player to enter a cheat code at the GAME OVER screen that changes after every third stage. After choosing to continue, the player will be taken back to the main menu and will be allowed to change the number of players and difficulty setting before resuming at the last stage they left off. The length restriction will still be in effect after entering the Continue cheat. This means that if the player lowers the difficulty level to PRACTICE on Mission 4 or above, the player will be warped back to Mission 3 instead. Likewise, lowering the setting to WARRIOR on Mission 9 will cause the player to continue the game on Mission 8 instead.
Enemies seem to be more aggressive and have more health points in the Japanese version's DIFFICULT setting than they do in the international versions' equivalent setting of SUPREME MASTER

Street fighter 2 special edition Usa Genesis version.

restoration of the intro as in the Japanese version.

https://tcrf.net/Street_Fighter_II:_Special_Champion_Edition_(Genesis)

International versions changed the intro character being punched from black to white, and his hair style.

There is a hack that restores the 4 boss names

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3483/

There is another hack but it doesn't exist anymore and is referenced on romhacking

https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1622/ but it doesn't really restore the intro character just a hair story.

I know that there are great hacks proposed by Pyron and LordHiryu that do much better but this is also a story of being closer to the original version without trying to resemble the arcade.

Bonjour ,

Serait il possible de supprimer la censure sur zelda link to the past SNES pour les roms suivante ou porté une version Redux de ShadowOne333

A Link to the Past Redux https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2594/

https://tcrf.net/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_A_Link_to_the_Past

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Canada) (Fr) texte identique à la version franciase en 60 hrz.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Germany)

Il existe des versions 50 hrz qui represente peux d'intérêt par rapport a leur equivalent 60 hrz.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Europe) texte en anglais 50 hrz.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (France) texte en français 50 hrz

Thanks

Hello ,

Would it be possible to remove the censorship on zelda link to the past SNES for the following roms or ported a Redux version of ShadowOne333

A Link to the Past Redux https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2594/

https://tcrf.net/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_A_Link_to_the_Past

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Canada) (Fr) identical text to the french version in 60 hrz.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Germany)

There are 50 hrz versions which are of little interest compared to their 60 hrz equivalent.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (Europe) 50 hrz English text.

Legend of Zelda, The - A Link to the Past (France) French text 50 hrz

Thanks

Something simple (hopefully):

Can someone PLEASE edit this hack so that it works on a Japanese Sonic 1 ROM as well?

One idea for GBC Cannon Fodder: fix the opening music frequency.
https://tcrf.net/Bugs:Cannon_Fodder_(Game_Boy_Color)

Also to fix the persistent buzzing.

FAST6191

Is GBC cannon fodder worth considering as a game? I have somehow missed it thus far (despite GB/GBC and hidden gems thereof being somewhat in my wheelhouse and Cannon Fodder enough that http://www.worldofstuart.excellentcontent.com/cf2/cf2.htm is in my bookmarks) but most of the time GBC port of real time strategy with heavy mouse movement is not a great starting point -- as it stands today I am unlikely to be grabbing the megadrive version again despite more hours than I care to imagine on it back when, might however even go play the Amiga version after writing this as you put it in my mind.
It is not impossible that they took the spirit of the game and made something nice based around it (have plenty of examples of that happening for the later stage GBC and GBA).

Some minor hacking advice though for those wanting to maybe attempt it. Buzzing might be harder (I assume they are not randomly firing the various noise/triangle/whatever generators) but music should not be so bad -- unlike the GBA and DS then the GB/GBC was mostly still in per game custom audio engine territory so you are probably not looking for a frequency value in a known format somewhere (might turn out to be that, or have the possibility of that but you will have to put in the spade work first). However it is more likely a timer based affair so whatever twiddles the audio registers should fall from the timer and allow you to tweak accordingly. This would be a reasonable intro to assembly hacking as setting a breakpoint on the audio registers ( https://gbdev.io/pandocs/Sound_Controller.html ) and working back to find whatever timer is involved.

I've actually looked at GBC Cannon Fodder's 4-bit sample playback a couple times in the past. The issue is not as clear cut as "the wave channel is set to the wrong frequency".
The title sequence & helicopter samples are encoded at a sample rate of around 10KHz (10240Hz matches the original Amiga) while the rest of the samples (voices, drums, SFX) are encoded at around 8KHz (8192Hz). A separate sample playback routine is used for the 10KHz samples, so my guess is that its code isn't timed properly.
I can only wish good luck to those who want to mess with timing-sensitive code.

Someone is actually building a ROM called Mega Man The Sequel Wars from the ground up.

Looking back at Disney based video games, it's kind of sad that Disney's Robin Hood never got its own game. Maybe one day, the NES Robin Hood games with the human Robin can be redone as a Disney Robin Hood game...but that's just wishful thinking.

This is really minor but I just started playing Wario Land and I realized that Wario's hat isn't his 'normal' hat, a sprite hack that makes his hat more consistent with other Wario games would be appreciated.

Also, it's wishful thinking but it would be cool if the Playstation versions of Dragon Quest IV and Snatcher got English translations

If you're talking about the Gameboy game, if you look at the beginning of the file selection screen, his hat flies off and he replaces it with a safari hat (with a W to boot). So there is an explanation as to why he doesn't wear one in that game.

Can someone please translate at least the first El Dorado Gate game? I know some people in this site tried to do that, but both projects seemed to be either lost to time or cancelled.

Honestly it would be awesome if anyone would be interested in making a color version of the game boy james bond game..it's kind of a hidden gem cult classic type of game that is in a neat overhead view and is a little zelda like ik it's gameplay(with guns).but it really stands out as a very good Gameboy game that has cool things like the Jake's bind music..the casino level where you habebto win and can  get a high rollers suite if you win enough..the top down overhead perspective really gives it a bit of a links awakening feel.
