This is odd. Under injection methods, I have the two Retroarch choices and then Old GB Virtual Console and New GB Virtual Console. Nothing about linking or Alt. You're using New Super Ultimate right? Do you know which version?

Okay so it looks like I'm using an older verion, Beta 26. I have no idea what changed between then and the latest version to cause it to not work. I really wish I could be of more help, but I just don't get it.

a Blue DX edition is available there in that Pokecommunity forum topic as well.

but both Red DX & Blue DX still suffer this game freezing/crashing problem when using the move Sucker Punch

although that sucker punch crashing problem was supposedly fixed in a github commit, some people like this guy and this person had a hard time "building" a proper patch or update to it since that specific fix never got publicly released

Oh yeah, I remember this.  I don't know quite what's up and I don't really have the time nowadays to do a deep dive.  It could be that no one maintained the disassembly back then so it's not working with up to date compilation tools (rgbds mostly), or a later commit broke compilation somehow.  I think the original dev's earlier threats about distribution chilled things enough so that no one really looked that hard into it at the time, me included.

Either way the original dev left, but it's on GitHub so if anyone wants to look into it they could always just make a fork.

That's what he/she did to make the German version of the hack, he/she replaced the English text files with the ones from the German disassembly.
Also, there's a disassembly of the French Red & Blue, made by the same person who disassembled the German Red & Blue.

I have found the creator of "For the Frog the Bell Tolls DX" on Twitter, and he is almost done. He was planning on an October release, but had a comissioned work that he needed to focus on. His current estimate is "by the end of 2022".

My man..... how do you do generate hype so consistently? That's another project I'll be keeping on eye on!
