hahahaha no we are working in our spare time we are a limited knowledge team doing what we can and learning along the way.

drax01

Our youtube friend @lordzai has made a gameplay to test the progress of the improvement we have been working on. I hope you like it.

drax01

Hello community, our friend Rkk has added new music to the high score screen.

sebastianangel

it gets better and better! :D  keep it up

drax01

Hello friends, our fellow @Rkk has redesigned the select screen portraits and fixed Kano's power, he no longer does the flying kick implemented by "Hummer Team" but his iconic power "cannonball"

Please support our friend Rkk's channel:

Fantastic, this is just what I was looking for for this game, an 8-bit interpretation of the compositions that Matt Furniss did for Mega Drive / Genesis, this version is the Palace Gates stage.

Please, convince the author to complete the rest of the tracks.

I'm glad you like it, the team has expanded, originally we are Rkk, Amilgi and me. Now Fox Cunning is with us and a great collaborator who tests the advances to verify that everything works well, which is Lordzai ( https://www.youtube.com/@lordzai7185 ), the advances that are coming are great!

drax01

It has already been possible to change the mortal kombat logo for the title "MIDWAY PRESENTS". Thanks to the collaboration between Rkk and Fox Cunning

Don't worry, I've already completed 2a03 covers of the entire MKI & MKII soundtracks for us to work off.
Majority of them are based off the Genesis versions, mostly because I could easily extract note data from them to reference.

Don't want to spoil too much too soon, but here's a sample of two tracks ("Dead Pool" and "Hall"):

With Fox's help, we should be able edit to the existing music driver to enable better instruments and arrangements and hopefully end up with something close to these.

I had initially done them without using the DPCM channel to enhance the drums, as I wasn't sure if it could be supported.
Instead I used the triangle to add some oomph to the drums in addition to being the bass, similar to a lot of C64 music.
It's tough to match the Genesis rhythm section on the 2a03 but I think it came out OK.

It may have worked out in the long run though, as instead we may be able to use the DPCM channel for the iconic MK voice clips (ROUND ONE, FIGHT! FINISH HIM! FATALITY!) and maybe some other sfx.

 Sounds great that "Throne Room"! Personally I settle for the melodies to be recognizable in this game, something that I think is more feasible adapting the Genesis sountrack instead of the Arcade version, since the latter is not so defined in terms of score and requires a lot of sound quality to be recognizable.

It would be crazy to have the voices of the Speaker in this game, in fact I think it is the point that has contributed the most in the hack that Master Linkuei did with his "MK Arcade Edition".

Congratulations on this exciting job you are doing, says a fan of Mortal Kombat since its inception.

I hope that a version of this track is included among the chosen ones!
