Breath of Fire IV's North American and European releases suffered from censorship and cut content. Four scenes were censored, Scias' speech was altered, and the Identify ability was removed.

This hack restores the four censored scenes. Additionally, it also allows the user to add back Scias' Identify ability.

sir i tried patching it though i got confused..after the program says Successfully Uncensored and created the new bin there was an error message prompt that cant find a file...is this ok?..and then tested the new bin on duckstation and epsxe it loads the game...

This hack is very welcome.

Is it possible to subtitle the animated intro sequence? Despite having Japanese audio, it's not subtitled in either the US or PAL releases.

What exactly is the third scene? Is it the beheading?

It's the one where Nina and Ursula take a bath. That one's optional.

Okay. Thank you so much for creating this. Say, have you had any luck running this as an eboot? I've tried it on my vita through Adrenaline and it will boot up but it hangs at the Playstation screen and won't progress past that. I was able to run it on my PC though

No problem. I haven't tested it on the Vita, since I don't have one.

Update: It's not just the Vita, it has the same issue running on a PSP

Also why is the 3rd scene optional and why does it need the japanese version?

I don't have any plans for the PC version right now, the data format it uses appears to be very different from the one used by the PSX version. Maybe one day.

I have been waiting for such a patch for a really long time.

Any Plans to add/fix the Dengeki Store in the US Version as well?
It seems that there are still parts of the Code in the US Version, but no associated Textstrings.
Unfortunately i'm not that technically inclined, so i don't know anything more specific about it.
But what i DO know is, the Shop, lottery system and "take a free rusty sword" still works.

When i first came across this ?-Place, i've shared Screenshots and some details how to get there on tcrf (under Regional Differences).
But I have also created a video for you to show the whole thing in motion, just in case you're not aware:

I'll volunteer to test it on the PSX emulator for PS2. I only have one day off a week and I'm a bit rusty with the whole process of getting the game on the drive, but maybe.

A user tested it on PS3. Same issue as PSP/Vita. Stuck at PlayStation logo.

I'll ask someone to try on a real playstation one.
