Quote from: Lumiere on June 27, 2022, 11:48:09 PMAh, I was misreading. That was a change that the 3D versions did, they gave the Scholar L3 White & Black magic.
I was thinking of that, and there it's a way to both, make Hein fight less frustating and make Scholars able to use magic, making books cast magic when used as an item.

Poll resuts:
Now viking will be a tank (high defense, high strenght but low speed.)

A good way to balance out the specialized classes(Devout, Magus, and Summoner) compared to the Sage would be to lower the Sage's MP charges and improve the specialized ones.

Ninjas have no command skill which technically makes them weaker but, they have much higher stats than the other fighters and have very little equipment restrictions. T29 is buffing the other fighters already so we'll have to wait and see how the new fighters compared to the ninja.

Books casting magic would work, I'm not familiar enough with III. Can you use magic from items if they're unequipped or is it only while they're equipped?

Quote from: Zimgief on June 28, 2022, 07:06:42 AMPeople got my message right. :)
I suppose the starting classes can/should be overshadowed, but going all sages and ninjas in the end game (because they are objectively the best) is kind of sad, given the variety of jobs the game has to offer!
Note: buffing the other jobs is a possibility, but nerfing these two (still leaving them unique in their skills and stat balance) works too!

I guess the best way to do that it's to put most job's ultimate weapons (Dream Harp, A buffed hammer, etc) on  Eureka's weapon shop instead of the Crystal Equipment. (There are two on chests found half dungeon later/before).

About the Bl.Belt/Karateka, I'll boost his strenght at the cost of not being able to use weapons (maybe I rework claws).

Yeah, the Ninja has no special commands so it would be like Palom from TAY (can only use black magic but his magic it's stronger than Rydia's and MIB's).
The Devout, Magus, and Summoner will receive a magic stat boost so they are powerful with only one thing (White magic, Black magic, Summons).

I managed to fix the elemental boost bug so now black magic will be stronger after you go to Eureka and get the Sage's staff. (Thanks to Everything).

A new poll has come out, you will help me a lot by voting it, I am waiting for 5 users to vote for the next poll. (Only 1 poll more is left before v2.2 is released).

Red Soul

I know it may be impossible with the amount of changes already in place, but it would be great to see a version of this at some later point in time that is compatible with Chaos Rush's translation as well.

T92

Poll results:
I'll remove the "Darkness" element to the Ragnarok.

Maybe I can port the text instead, Chaos Rush's translation was always better but most patches I used weren't compatible with it.

New poll it's out.

I'll wait for 10 users to vote.

I had a mishap while editing job's stats, the rom map found at data crystal forgot the stats of the scholar and every data was one job wrong :banghead: , I managed to get a fixed rom map by looking at each job's stats, if someone knows how to edit the datacrystal info let me know.

I'm just guessing here, but it seems to be a wiki style webpage, so it may not have a specific maintainer.
That said, it seems to exist within the RHDN domain so maybe your forum credentials would allow you to log in and modify the relevant entries to rectify the information.

I have a question about the source 'File CRC' value. I have several files that all have different CRC values and none of them match the listed 'File CRC', but when I remove the header they all match the 'Rom CRC' value listed on the hack page.

My assumptions are:
1) If the removed header CRC matches the 'Rom CRC' then the file is good, and
2) I need to patch it with the header *not* removed, even though it doesn't match the 'File CRC'.

Are these assumptions right?

The rom I used for this hack had a header and this info:

Format: iNES
External Header: Yes
Database match: Final Fantasy III (Japan)
Database: No-Intro: Nintendo Entertainment System (v. 20210216-231042)
File SHA-1: ADD099A77BA80FAC32E8464997EE85B588D2479B
File CRC32: 99F5DB31
ROM SHA-1: 8690012D6F4D6D11D16FD9AF7B200D9B6EA2504E
ROM CRC32: 57E220D0

As long as your ROM has the same data, the ips patch should work fine.

Quote from: T29 on June 30, 2022, 12:42:00 PMThe rom I used for this hack had a header and this info:

Can you post what header flags are set in your headers? I'm running a blank on finding a file that matches that file crc. According to this tool https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/683/ the hex header I'm seeing for my file (2022 nointro headered rom) is this: 4E 45 53 1A 20 00 42 08 00 00 70 07 00 00 00 01. I'm wondering if you have some extra data in the padding of your header. In either case, I think the header difference is probably negligible and it is uniform length, so if the Rom CRC matches, the patch will probably work. Unless your patch modifies the header for some reason. I'll try it and see.

Added FenixDowns to both Eureka's shop and most monster's drop/steal (You'll randomly get some after battles and can farm them with the thief.)

Lumiere

Hopefully that will give some players more wiggle room for deaths.
