For the past week I've been working on hacking Super Robot Wars MX for the PS2. This will be the thread for the Super Robot Wars MX English translation project.

Most of the work done so far has been ASM related. Over the past week I've been able to add ascii support and a VWF to the game.

Team:
Lead Hacker: Rai
Translator: Greenrose

Excellent! More SRW translation is more fun! ;D
One nit pick question: any chance for the font to be just a tidy bit wider? I know it costs real estate. My own personal humble opinion would be in favor of a slightly larger font to ease the reading. Just a couple of pixels.
(For the fun of sharing, the AP translation project uses a font resembling Nina.)
Keep it up!
Note: I posted one of your pics on /m/ with a link to here.

And I just followed the link from /m/ to take a look at this project. This is great news. On behalf of the SRW GC translation team, I wish you the best of luck in this project . No poaching our translator though.

Looking like it's a good year for SRW! I'd definitely spread the word around /m/ to see if anyone is available to translate.

ranma444

i'd be interested in proofreading if you need help with that. anything to help get another srw game translated!

Tiduas

Good luck with this project, I'm always happy when the SRW-series get more love. Currently I really don't have the time to help out with translations even though I would love to, but in the future I might drop by and offer any help if it's still needed.

Rai

Thanks for the comments guys. Lately, I've been working on a program to the dump the game's script. I've successfully dumped the portion of the script that contains the pilot names, robot names and other things.

So if anyone's interested in translating for this game; send me a PM.

I believe its PS2. PSP version is laggy/slow.

Rai

Hey guys.

Here's a new screenshot showing off translated battle text:

Glad to see you've figured that one out!
Feel free to share details in PM.  ;D

PSP version also has increased difficulty somewhat and allows you to pick 3 favorite series instead of 1, IIRC.

Gamerhenky

Mostly like SRW J picks 3 favorite series also MX Portable can save anytime.

increased difficulty = inflated hp counts, somewhere i might still have a file you can umdgen into the iso to fix the counts back to the old ones from the ps2 game

Lumiere

The inflated hp totals barely improves the difficulty, one of the main problems with MX's lack of difficulty is that the enemies are pitifully weak. It's a bad sign when most of your pilots have better stats than most of the enemy bosses.

I dunno, I don't play SRW for the challenge, I play it for the explosions and the nekketsu.

Rai, the work you've done here actually looks really good. You've come quite a long way; now just make sure you stick with the project!

Good news guys. I've finally found a translator this project, Greenrose.

Here's a screenshot showing off some of Greenrose's translations in-game:
