Utilities: Mario 64 Level Importer 0.8b

From the same creator of "The Missing Stars" hack, this tool imports a Wavefront .obj file as the level mesh of any level in Super Mario 64.

Features:


  • Replace any of the original levels
  • Select available Object Banks
  • Map textures to specific collision types
  • Set "weather" effects (lava, snow, etc)
  • Set global terrain types (slide, sand, snow)
  • Set background graphics
  • User-friendly interface with save/load settings feature

Textures with alpha are still not properly supported, but will be so in further updates. For best results, use 32x32 textures, other texture sizes might be mapped incorrectly.

Found a bug related to the Bank 0x0E selector. If you choose Bank 0x0E setting "Whomp's Fortress", Bowser First Course", "Lethal Lava Land", "Bowser Fire Sea" and "Rainbow Ride" it might corrupt your ROM.

Next release will have this bug fixed and will also automatically repair any damaged ROM. It will also support alpha and have a few fog parameters.

At first, I didn't get what was going on.  But I take it that level is from Banjo-Kazooie?

Will penguins work?
