  • Hacks
Corrected something in the MMC5 Setup in the ROM file. Nothing else have been changed.
  • Credits
I forgot to list B-Run's and Warrax's contributions. I wanted to properly credit the first players of the hack for their bug feedback. Lockirby has been crucial in the location and squashing of combat bugs. Alby4t5 has been crucial in the location and squashing of event bugs.

SPOOKY KIDS hack posse

English

Description:

The SPOOKY KIDS Hack Posse was a very early ROM hacking group, formed in ‘97 by `twiggy and FiGmEnt. Other early members included Kasady, B0MB, DJW, and many, many others.

While there were already people doing ROM hacks when the group was formed, and the first translation groups were recently established, SKHP may very well have been the first group of its kind.

In 2000, leadership was passed along to Kasady, and several other hackers joined – including Pope Hentai among others. The final iteration of SKHP ceased activity as a group sometime in either late 2000 or perhaps 2001.

Quite a bit of the group’s work has been lost to time, and only very early versions of many hacks survive. Even so, the group was responsible for many seminal hacks from the early days – and a great many of ROM hacking’s ongoing memes started within their work.
