FF4kster, the all-in-one editor for Final Fantasy 4 has once again received a long overdue update. This update doesn’t feature any new major compoentents, but rather a large collection of smaller things, including:
- The monster editor now allows you to edit “special size” details (the “size” bytes used by bosses), as well as showing a preview for the monster palette when selecting it.
- Triggers and map data now have safeguards preventing data overflow.
- The solobattle and trigger editors now preview the formation details.
- The feature editor now contains an entry for “6-letter spells”; changing this range will affect what spells can be put into player spell sets.
- The map editor now displays how much room is left for adding new map data, and allows you to change “glitch worlds” into usable maps, and vice versa.
- The event editor has been cleaned up and improved; the sub-menus now expand when you’re selecting the parameters.
- Many other miscellaneous bug fixes and minor improvements.

The all-in-one Final Fantasy 4 hacking utility, FF4kster, has received another significant update. It now features a “Tileset Editor” which allows you to change the properties of the tiles in the various tilesets (things like which tiles are on which layer, which tiles can trigger events or chests, warp you out, damage the party, cause random encounters, etc).
In addition, the program no longer relies on prepackaged image files for the tile images, instead reading them directly from the rom you’re editing. This way, if you change any of the in-game map tile graphics, those changes will be reflected by the editor. The overlays indicating which tiles trigger events or warps or can be walked behind are also now generated dynamically based on the tile settings.
Finally, as usual there are a few minor bug fixes and improvements, including many more safeguards against data bleeding. Adding data should now be a lot safer as it will now either warn you or explicitly prevent you from adding too much (in most cases, that is… there still may be some areas that allow bleeding so you should still be careful, but events, messages, spell sets, triggers, and NPCs should all be safe).

The all-in-one editing tool for Final Fantasy 4, FF4kster, has received another update. In addition to the usual bug fixes and minor improvements, the highlights are as follows:
The event editor has been cleaned up quite a bit. It now can preview Bank 2 messages as well as NPC placements. It will even dynamically update said previews when the event contains a teleport instruction.
There is now a solobattle editor that allows you to edit the details of battles that hide particular actors or hide all actors except particular ones.
Furthermore, the command editor now allows the editing of far more details of battle commands.

FF4kster, the all-in-one editor for Final Fantasy 4 has been updated yet again. This time, along with the usual array of bug fixes and minor improvements, there is an autobattle editor that allows you to change which battles are scripted as well as the scripts themselves. In addition, the program now contains a rudimentary map editor which allows you to edit the inner maps. The tile graphics have been blatantly ripped from FF4Tools, but if all goes well they will soon (hopefully by the next release) be dynamically read from the loaded ROM instead.
Several additional battle commands now have parameters that can be edited as well, including Steal, Boast, Cry, and even Fight!

FF4kster, the all-in-one editor for Final Fantasy 4, has finally received a large update. Some major bugs were fixed and some significant components have been added:
The new monster editor allows you to change the details of individual monsters, including not only their HP, Exp, Gil values, battle stats, and elemental and other special properties, but also their item drops, and even their AI behaviour and reaction scripts.
In addition, there is now a formation editor which allows you to edit particular battles, including what groups of monsters are fought, as well as various other properties such as whether you can flee from the fight or not, or whether you will get game over from losing the fight or not.
Finally, the new encounters editor allows you to manipulate what groups of monsters you can randomly encounter in what areas.

FF4kster, the all-in-one editor for Final Fantasy 4 has been updated. In addition to some minor bug fixes, the menus can now be navigated much more easily and quickly with the PgUp and PgDown keys, and menus now have an “indexed mode” that can be toggled with the “/” key, which displays a number next to each menu item that indicates its position in the list (useful for cross-referencing information such as map indexes and the like).
As well, two new editor components have been added: First, an “Item Range” editor, which currently allows you to edit which weapons are two-handed and which items are key items, and hopefully in future more item properties will become editable as well, as more information emerges. Second, a “Map Info” editor which allows you to edit certain properties of the maps such as whether they’re magnetic, what song plays, what background the battles have, etc.

FF4kster, the all-in-one editor for Final Fantasy 4 has been updated. Some bugs have been fixed, including some errors with some of the menus, as well as some bugs related to the saving of NPCs.
In addition, you can now edit the game’s dialogue. This includes all three dialogue banks, as well as the battle messages and status names.
Furthermore, two config files have been added: one for NPCs and one for NPC sprites.
As well, the program can now handle unheadered roms as well as headered ones (but can still only handle FF2US v1.1).

FF4kster is an attempt to make an all-in-one comprehensive editor for Final Fantasy 4 (Final Fantasy 2 US).
For a long time it seemed like there were all sorts of information known about data in the FF2US ROM which no existing editor could manipulate, and even with the existing editors you would often need to use several different ones depending on what you wanted to achieve.
Thus, the goal of this project is to create a single editor that allows the user to manipulate any of the known data from FF4. In its current state there are still a lot of known data that it is not yet capable of editing, but it does currently have the ability to edit several kinds of data that no other currently existing utility can.
This is being actively worked on, and periodic updates featuring bug fixes and the ability to edit new kinds of data can be expected.
