Block Dude port for NES

13 September 2018 9:10AM EST - Update by mitch3a

Homebrew News - RHDN Project Page

This is a port of the TI-83 (and other calcs) puzzle game Block Dude. In the game, you control Block Dude, whose powers are to pick up and put down one block at a time. He can also climb one block at a time! Using the blocks, you make your way to the door which brings you to the next level. The original was created by Brandon Sterner and was a joy when you were in class and your teacher thought you were doing your classwork. While there are ways to play it on a calculator still, if you prefer the NES, you can play this port :)

MashyMashy: Nes Game for Mash Skills

19 January 2017 8:44PM EST - Update by mitch3a

Homebrew News - RHDN Project Page

MashyMashy is a NES “game” for measuring mash speed. Possibly more of a tool than a game, it allows you to choose a mash button and time limit, then you mash to your hearts content. Afterwards, your total hits and rate of button pushes per second are displayed.

It was written by Mitch3a as a way to learn core NES development concepts (mostly based on nerdy nights tutorials) while writing something useful, especially for the speedrunning community. It was started about a month ago and is considered complete. Although there is room for expansion and the source is public for all those who want to add to it, Mitch3a has stated that it does one job well and he is ready to move on to a full feature game.

Russian Roulette for the NES! (again)

10 October 2016 2:48AM EST - Update by Jedi QuestMaster

Homebrew News - RHDN Project Page

From the land that has produced the greatest chess minds comes a very different mind game. It now stands before you, not as a test of crude brawn, but as an intense battle of wits.

RUSSIAN ROULETTE is a dynamic challenge that seems easy enough: Insert a round into the chamber, rotate the cylinder, pull the trigger and your score rises. Nothing to it, right? Wrong! When you blow your face off you’ll wish you had ten lives — and one brain. Warning: RUSSIAN ROULETTE is dangerous in real life! Find a better addiction (maybe apple pie?). Mmmmmm… apple pie.
