22 July 2022 4:22PM EST - Update by tygerbug
It’s a blazing hot summer right now, but we’re looking forward to Halloween. You’ll be well prepared with this hack originally issued in 2020, where horror hostess and “Queen of Halloween” Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) hosts a special uncensored version of Bandai’s 1989 NES game “Monster Party.” Based on the prototype restoration by Stardust Crusaders, this hack has been overhauled for 2022, with brand-new, visually complex introductory cutscenes featuring Elvira herself. The rest of the hack is unchanged, as Elvira takes on a parade of movie monsters in a parody world of horrors.

Look up in the sky it’s a bird it’s a plane! No, it’s Michael Jordan and he’s in a Arcade videogame? Yes you heard right. For the first time ever a ROM hack is available for the Arcade version of NBA Jam T.E.
Ponlork known for his work on the PS1 NBA Jam 23 project was somehow able to pull off the improbable by successfully hacking the Arcade version to not only include Michael Jordan but the Man of Steel himself Shaquille O’Neal. Furthermore, the secret question mark team consisting of Mortal Kombat characters, cheerleaders and Mark Turmell is unlocked by default.
Revision 2.1 was chosen for this mod as it contains many features that were later removed due to censorship. This includes the Backboard shattering effect, Fatalities, Mortal Kombat characters, playable cheerleaders and several more hidden players that were axed in later revisions.
Check out the trailer below and get ready to say Hoop! There it is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhwE29KzVe8
Among Us : The Tragedy of Ryohyukan Released
13 July 2022 7:11AM EST - Update by tygerbug
The crewmates of Among Us make an entertaining appearance on the NES, in the first Family Basic V3 hack to be featured at Romhacking.
In this minigame, there are imposters among us! Find them. Mark them. Stop them before they kill the entire crew of this spaceship.
This is a hack of The Tragedy of Ryohyukan (Ryuuhyoukan no Sangeki), a 1993 NES/Famicom minigame programmed in Famicom Family BASIC V3 by Takashi Endo and published over three pages of the magazine “Micom BASIC (マイコン BASIC)” in early 1994.
The code was scanned and preserved by ozidual for Gaming Alexandria, and ozidual advised on this hack.
Family Basic was a Japan-only add-on for the NES/Famicom from Nintendo and Hudson Soft. It included a full keyboard and the ability to program games in the BASIC programming language, within the limited RAM available. The available graphics were borrowed from Mario Bros and the Donkey Kong series, among other sources.
Computer hobbyist magazines at the time would publish code for this and other systems, that you could type in yourself to play these games. Some of these magazines are now being preserved by Gaming Alexandria, along with all that now-rare game code.
Graphics and text have been changed in this version to translate the minigame from Japanese, and reflect the 2018 PC game Among Us, by Innersloth, Marcus Bromander and Forest Willard. The hack is by Garrett Gilchrist.
There is a group of red crewmates on the screen and your job as detective is to find the imposter killer(s) and mark them pink/purple, before the timer runs out or they kill all the other crewmates.

Sicari 2 - The Brink of Time has been released. As the sequel to “Sicari Remastered”, Sicari 2 is a complete overhaul of Super Mario World, set in a silly new universe, with new characters to go with it. Each level is uniquely themed, with all the graphics being original and hand-drawn.
Play as Sicari and cut through your foes with her trusty knife, or snipe them from afar with K-16’s laser bolts. Many challenges lie ahead! Good luck!
Can you find all 46 exits?

Raggedy Land with Ann and Andy released!
06 July 2022 7:37AM EST - Update by tygerbug
Raggedy Ann and Andy, created by Johnny Gruelle, were some of the most beloved children’s characters of the 20th century. Due to various rights issues, the property has fallen out of public view in recent years, but there’s still a strong fandom for the characters among younger and older enthusiasts alike.
Raggedy Land is a visually beautiful NES romhack which feels like the sort of game Raggedy Ann could have had back in 1987. There aren’t a lot of hacks of Data East’s “Donald Land” out there, so this feels relatively fresh and unique. Almost every character has been redesigned and replaced, with lots of deep-cut and fan-favorite characters from various Raggedy Ann related projects. The coding was reworked to allow for the new characters.
It’s also a relatively non-violent game, depending on how you play it, and feels in keeping with Raggedy Ann & Andy, who are both playable in the game.
This hack was done by film restorationist Garrett Gilchrist, who restored the 1977 film Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure for web release. Half the graphics were designed by Brooklyn Williams, of the Raggedy Ann Revival Effort, which seeks to revive the obscure 1986 Broadway musical “Rag Dolly.” Both projects featured songs by Joe Raposo.
Manall's FF1 v2.2.1 Update
05 July 2022 5:59PM EST - Update by Manall
2.2.1 has arrived to fix a tiling & minimap bug experienced with 2.2’s base patch. This fixes the issues experienced most often near the top and bottoms of the world map. While the origins of this odd bug are unknown, it has been since squashed. Only the base patch was affected - all other patches that came with 2.2 were clean.
Although an extremely small update, this important fix is relevant to all players who have grabbed version 2.2.
Pokemon Crystal 251 (v2.0) Out Now
05 July 2022 3:52AM EST - Update by Razormime
Pokemon Crystal 251 was created to maintain the vanilla Crystal experience as much as possible, while providing in-game solutions to finishing the Pokedex 100% alone. As work was being done on a minor update to add a few Mystery Gift items to in-game events, the author found himself adding every missing Mystery Gift and Time Capsule exclusive item, including the hold items and room decorations. In addition, new skills were developed while finding even more room to expand some of the areas developed in v1.x.
With all of the new items added to in-game events, and existing Crystal 251 events receiving substantial updates, the project has evolved beyond a simple decimal update and has become a full version 2.0 update.
While the project focused on players using emulators, every precaution was made to ensure that players who want to play on real hardware can do so, and can still have complete compatibility with RBY, GSC, Pokemon Stadium 1&2, Gameboy Printer, etc. Players on hardware should be able to battle via gamelink cable, trade, and use transfer paks on the N64!
Pokemon Crystal 251 (v2.0) strives to be the best, most complete vanilla Crystal experience possible.
