Legend of Link 1.2 Released

05 September 2014 10:26PM EST - Update by snarfblam

ROM Hacks News - RHDN Project Page

Various ancient legends have been recorded of a young boy clothed in green, wielding the mythical master sword, sealing away all evil throughout the land. His ventures, passed down through generations have become legend. The hero of legend, had many different forms. He saved many kingdoms, restoring peace in all the lands. This is but one of the legends, of which the people speak…

Once you start playing, you may find it hard to believe that this is a hack of the original Legend of Zelda. New items, new sword mechanics, new graphics, new music (different sound engine, even!) and a world twice as large as the original… there is little left that hasn’t been extensively modified. This hack will keep on wowing you right up to the very end.

Make sure you’re using an up-to-date emulator, as this hack makes extensive use of MMC5 features to push the game’s capabilities to the limits. Tested with current versions FCUEX, Nestopia, Nintendulator, and others (see for the full list and more info.)

Final Fantasy V advance - sound restoration updated

04 September 2014 4:48PM EST - Update by Bregalad

ROM Hacks News - RHDN Project Page

The Final Fantasy V advance that restores the sound has now been updated, it now features 100% authentic music and sound effects, and supports all three versions of the ROM (Europe, Japan and America).

Even the reverb was made to sound like the original SNES version.

This version also fixes things that were even wrong in the original GBA release (and previous versions of this hack) : The correct music now plays in correct places, and the framerate drops in the game are eliminated.

In a nutshell, here are some of the new features you can enjoy in KO PSP:

  • Slowdown removal.
  • Multiplayer battles and items in singleplayer.
  • One day Errands.
  • Rebalanced jobs/skills/items.
  • More balanced, level-scaled battles.

Basically, this mod is meant to be the definitive version of War of the Lions. Read the project page and the included links therein to get a feel for the full scope of changes provided in the game. Note that the patch requires a EUR ISO to be used, but it can be run on modded PSPs and PPSSPP nearly flawlessly.

There is now a solobattle editor that allows you to edit the details of battles that hide particular actors or hide all actors except particular ones.

Furthermore, the command editor now allows the editing of far more details of battle commands.
