Kamen no Ninja: Akakage & Perman 1 English Translation RELEASED!

26 February 2016 7:48AM EST - Update by Zynk Oxhyde

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Another two old Famicom games translated to English by Zynk Oxhyde.

THE MASKED NINJA: AKAKAGE; and,

PERMAN: RETURN THE SAUCER!

Akakage was easy to translate because of very few text. The game was very memorable because of the anime-ish graphics and it was a very mysterious game without knowing what the things are happening. But the game was really a very linear game with not much plot. And most of the items seem incomplete and with Akakage’s sidekicks, Aokage - the quick ninja boy with the boomerang, & Shirokage - who seems to have nothing special on him. (Forgot to mention those two characters in the readme, meh)

Perman 1 is remarkably a fun platformer dabbled with some minigames that are essential to get a perfect game to make the boardgame boss battle easier to deal with. There are some stages where you can play as Booby (aka Perman#2), a monkey who has much more jumping power. Too bad you can’t play as Perko (aka Perman#3) and Peryan (aka Perman#4), however, these two play as support in the BBB section.

FOOTNOTE: There’s a translated Perman 2 by KingMike, but Perman 1 was left untranslated by some reason; really, why Perman 2 first and not Perman 1?? (And should the translation turn “Paaman” into “Perman” for the sake of correcting it?)

Golf Daisuki!: O.B. Club English Translation Released

19 February 2016 12:49AM EST - Update by taskforce

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Dynamic Designs has released a fully playable translation patch for Golf Daisuki!: O.B. Club. The game itself is a fun little sports game that plays like a cross of regular and miniature golf. The courses feel like they’ve been ripped right out of crazy miniature golf style games but it has some things that are typically found more in regular golf games. Stuff like Reading the green and many holes having no boundaries to keep you in bounds. It also features sand traps and water hazards like would typically be found in regular golf. Thanks goes to Phioxuesle for giving us the translation and project idea.

JPS is released to the world.

18 February 2016 6:17AM EST - Update by ZPedro

Utilities News - RHDN Project Page

JPS is a web app that can apply IPS patches (Firefox, Chrome and Opera only for now).

JPS aims at providing an easier experience for people who are new to using ROM hacks: no need to install a patcher that depends on the platform, instead you just follow a link and use a web page. Visiting JPS also installs it, which allows it to be used while offline: if you bookmark it, then load the bookmark later, this will run JPS regardless of whether you are currently connected. In other words, JPS tries to combine the best of web apps and desktop apps.

JPS is the result of a lot of work to try and support as many existing IPS patches as possible. Have fun trying many new ROM hacks using JPS!

KITERETSU ENCYCLOPEDIA & PARASOL HENBEE English Translation Released!

15 February 2016 8:01AM EST - Update by Zynk Oxhyde

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Zynk Oxhyde features two famicom games translated into English:

These games are based on animes from the creator of Doraemon, Fujiko Fujio. However, that pen-name had actually two manga artists collaborating, namely, Fujiko Fujio A (Motoo Abiko) and Hiroshi Fujimoto (Fujiko F. Fujio).

Both games were grueling to work on without any knowledge of either shows, and the fact that these are kuso-games. :D

Have fun! And be sure to read the readmes on how to play them!

BS Super Aleste English Patch Released!

02 February 2016 3:45PM EST - Update by tettsui77

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

After being announced a few weeks ago, the translation patch for ‘BS Super Aleste’ is now out!

Though this is v1.0 of the patch, it has achieved most of the original goals for the project. Namely, all Japanese text in-game has been fully translated; all “Engrish” has been cleaned up; AND the patched ROM will now function as a standalone SNES ROM, without need of the BS-X BIOS or a compatible emulator!

There are still many other things that will hopefully be implemented in future patches, so stay tuned! In the meantime, the translator truly hopes this will be seen as the definitive version of ‘Super Aleste’/'Space MegaForce’!
