Game Review - by Spinner 8
Hey, um, it’s Final Fantasy! And if that wasn’t good enough, there’s also Final Fantasy 2! Granted, it’s not enough to get anyone excited in the Emulation Age, but this would be quite a worthy purchase back in the day. I mean, who would pay full price for Final Fantasy 2? This way, at least you get the FF1 with it too.

Description
From what I can tell, it seems that Demi simply copied over the U.S. Final Fantasy ROM as well as Neo Demiforce’s Final Fantasy II translated ROM into this one, and made a patch. It looks like it may have been copied over a little too well, as both games use the same location in RAM to save data. Meaning, saving in Final Fantasy II will erase your Final Fantasy save, and vice versa. It’s not too big of a deal with savestates, but this really isn’t something to enjoy on your copier, dig?
Another reason to not enjoy this translation: talking to anyone in Final Fantasy will freeze your game. You can try to get around it by simply not talking to anyone, but since you have to talk to Garland to defeat him, and you have to defeat Garland to have a bridge built to the larger continent, you can play… maybe an hour into Final Fantasy before you’re not able to go any further, which makes it easy to classify this translation as Incomplete. Final Fantasy II seems to have no problems at all, though it doesn’t have the nifty intro that koitsu and BiGWeiRD added to the Neo Demiforce translation.
