Game Review - by Spinner 8

All the fun of the Megami Tensei games, with the cutesy Pokémon gameplay. Pretty much, that’s all you need to know. You run around and fight monsters, and instead of attacking and capturing them, you have to talk to them and persuade them to join your group. Sound familiar? Well it should, cause it’s been going on since the first Megaten game for the Famicom back in 1987. But in this game, you have a Pokédex, and you’re a cute and adorable little tyke, and you get to trade demons with your friend with the Black Book version of the game! So much fun!@%

Description

This is the counterpart to Black Book and alongside it, the version of White Book. Red Book’s script is fully dumped and already matched against Black Book’s script to ease the translation of it.

Although I was originally aiming for a double release of the two first games in the series, Black Book and Red Book together, hacking work on Red Book is somewhat stalled as I didn’t always find it feasable to incorporate the latest changes made to Black Book into it as well as I would then frequently have to change code in both games and then debug in both, too.

So for now I try to update Red Book and then on a set schedule incorporate completed features from Black Book into it, too.

As I originally planned to release all languages at the same time, then do the same for White Book, I now realized that this might not be possible due to lack of time. Still don’t know about that. Currently, this might be too much to do at once, so I might just release each version as it goes. Sadly, I cannot really tell which one it’s going to be.

I hope I will be able to incorporate most changes I made to Black Book into Red Book soon, so both will be at about the same level of hacking.
