This is the part where you make the news update! It's pretty simple. Anyone who has ever posting on a message board can do it. Make sure you preview your post before submitting so you know how it's going to look on the main page! Make sure it's looking it's best and PROOF READ your work. You don't want your news unapproved because you didn't give your best effort in making a nice news update for everyone. Here are a few guidelines:
Present Supported Features:(Just like BB Code)- Paragraph indenting and text formatting is automatic.
- LINK/URL - [url=urladdressgoeshere]URL TEXT GOES HERE[/url] Your links must follow this format or they will not come out correctly. Remember, this is for additional links and not the main relevant news link which has it's own field.
- IMAGES - We allow two images. Images are not allowed inline with BB code. You can post the image URLs in their respective fields and they will be copied to our servers and the news post will link to the local copy saving your bandwidth! It will also produce nice XHTML validating code for everyone.
- LIST - [list][li]Item Stuff goes here[/li][/list]. Use the list feature to list changes or additions and really make your post look great!
- BOLD - [b]Bold Text[/b]. Use this on any text you want to make bold.
- ITALICS - [i]Italics Text[/i]. Use this on any text you want to make italics.
- QUOTE - [quote]The quoted text here will be block indented and be in italics.[/quote]. This will create a quote block with a special indent and italic text. Use this to quote another source or person in your news update.
Please use common sense and don't abuse the system. If you have any other questions or suggestions for improvement, feel free to contact the staff or visit the forums. We're always listening for ways to improve the site. Enjoy!
Additional Help on File Submissions and Screenshots
If you are submitting news relating to a document, utility, or patch release (or anything carried on this site), please go to Submit Files, create an entry, and add the file to our site. For updates, you can simply edit the existing entry page! After your submission is approved, you should submit the news article with a link to the entry page in the 'RHDN Project Page' field. News articles without a corresponding project page (where applicable) may be delayed or rejected. This process ensures all news and entry pages will be properly linked and be able to be cross referenced by our visitors.
