It's playable, but not supreme.

I love ROM hacks that are playable, which don’t require a savestate every 3 seconds. That’s why the way this hack was advertised caught my attention. My favorite kinds of hacks are those which maintain the same difficulty as their original game, but change other aspects to make it look fresh. As for this one, I have some compliments, and I have some complaints.

A good thing to note about this hack is the graphics update, which is quite good. Not the best in the world, but it is a strong point of the hack. The difficulty level is also pretty much as advertised - definitely beatable in a single playthrough without using savestates.

The main complaint I have about this hack is that it’s sloppily made, and by that I mean there are parts where you can get yourself stuck and you have to let time run out in order to progress. I’m mainly talking about the lower path at the beginning of 1-2 and 5-2, but there are other parts I have gotten stuck at too. It has to do with the placement of the blocks, really. Another thing that bothered me is how lazy the creator got towards the end, which featured mostly all recycled levels. For a hack that only consists of 20 levels, I’d expect at least that every level be original.

Overall, I give it 3 stars out of 5, and compliment the creator for having the right idea with the difficulty - however, I just can’t quite get myself to recommend this. It needs a lot of work.
