Description:
This hack makes the player start the game with both the Jet and Power Adaptors in his inventory, something that can not be done with passwords or cheats. It also makes sure that the player has both armors no matter which password he enters.
As a consequence, on the “Weapon Get” screens at the end of Plant Man and Flame Man stage, the messages related to acquiring the Adaptors are gone.

A Great Way To Explorer And Not Repeat Stages
Reviewed By: Eldrethor on 01 Mar 2021MetHy’s hack is interesting; it’s simple in execution but has a surprising effect on the game.
The thing about Megaman 6 is that certain items and branching paths are gated behind breakable blocks that require the Power Adaptor or heights that can only be reached with the Jet Adaptor, so you’re encouraged to revisit stages at certain points to collect rewards that you may have missed.
By starting with both adaptors, you’re free to explore each stage and complete them without having to revisit anything. That is, unless you take pathways that don’t lead to certain rewards. This is a nice touch, since I find that the revisits are a chore, especially since branching paths lead you to repeat boss fights, and the Escape Unit was not yet a thing. Beat is just an okay reward, and the robot masters have tedious attack patterns that make their battles feel drawn out.
Overall, this is a fun hack. Not a must-have by any means, but it’s a gateway to free exploration, and it’s a nice way to avoid having to repeat stages if you don’t have to, which is especially nice for veterans to this entry.
