Daikaijuu Monogatari is a role playing game for the Super Nintendo.
In a mystical world far away, a legendary race of beings called Shell Monsters dwell. These are not those sorts of monsters that threaten other life forms, though. Just the opposite. Instead, these special “people” live extremely long lives and enjoy mysterious powers that certain heroes – sometimes reluctantly – use against tyrants that threaten the peaceful existence of their World of Shelldorado!
Such a threat has arisen recently – a fiend known as “Fat Badger – and Elder Hermit Crab of Shell Village is about to invoke an ancient chant that elders must memorize, to summon a human hero from another world that is quite distant from Shelldorado. Soon, the perplexed would-be hero, whether he wants to or not, will embark on an ocean voyage in the flimsy Puka shell craft, hoping to locate his madcap shell hero companions who somehow seem to be drifting far afield from their assigned duties!

Good translation from a good translation groupReviewed By: Haniel on 23 Feb 2021
I have explored this hack and have yet to find anything that I find offensive. In fact, it seems to be on-par with other hacks or translations that I have explored from this group.
I have found other politically-oriented references in other hacks that would be offensive to some people, such as a Final Fantasy Hack, a far more popular game than this, that had “two queens”, and the hacker stated it was for “diversity sake”, clearly doing it to impart his or her political ideology intro a popular game. I played the hack all the way through, loved it, and didn’t say anything even though it was not respectful of the source material. But it wasn’t my hack and people can do what they want with hacks. No one gets paid for this, so they do it on their own time, and if they want to go ahead and put in 2 queens, 15 queens, or say something about Communists, that’s their choice. But calling for a banning of any hack that doesn’t support one’s personal ideology is wrong. It’s a hack. Get over it!
If people get bent out of shape about political ideology in games, then be consistent about it. Ban everything you don’t like. There are a lot worse out there than this, and since there is only one English translation of it, just play it and have fun.
People need to grow up and accept that this is all just for fun and if you don’t like it, don’t play it, or, better, make your own hack and make the characters say whatever you want them to say.
