Rockman 7 EP

Hack of Mega Man 7

Rockman 7 EP is a complete romhack of Rockman 7 (NOT Mega Man 7). Expect all new (and some familiar) level designs, mid-boss battles, auto-scrolling sections, shop items, enemy and Robot Master attack patterns, weapon behaviors, and a lot more. It also enables in-game switching of weapons and adaptor.

Apply patch to Rockman 7 (Japanese version) with No Header, NOT Mega Man 7 (USA version).

UPDATE: version 1.02 (12/06/2020)

A great hack, but not for novices

Reviewed By: ParkerMcFly on 05 Dec 2020

It’s pieces of work like this that make me wish I knew how to hack.

At the end, I had a smile on my face, and I was laughing at how much fun I had.

Mind you, it took me about 30 minutes to actually get into the game - I probably chose the hardest level to start off with and didn’t realize I should be popping Energy Tanks like candy.

This is well worth your time to play, albeit, I don’t think I’d ever throw it on my SNES Classic, only because it doesn’t feel like a game you’d see in the Nintendo library. It doesn’t require save states, but it is far more difficult than a typical SNES title.

That being said, once you get the upgraded R-U-S-H adaptor, the game becomes easy mode - almost trivial.

The callbacks to other SNES titles was astounding - it blew my mind. (I wasn’t expecting to see a bit of Super Metroid in here! HAHA!)

The only part of this hack that I did not enjoy was the bullet hell level. I’ve never been good at those, and it really tested my skill to not get hit.

Overall, well worth your time. 9/10!
