Description:
This is basically an updated version of Dan Davis’ already excellent color file from the Game Boy Colorizer homepage. There are too many individual changes to list, but in general terms here are the changes in the updated version:
- All inadvertently revealed secrets are once again secrets!
- All mismatched tiles now match!
- Small changes to a few sprites.
- Very small color changes to a few background elements.
There are a few minor glitches which are documented at the Metroid Evolution site.
- V 2.0 UPDATE
Spikeman & Drakon fixed a bunch of stuff and made it so this hack runs on the real hardware. This patch runs start to finish on the real hardware without and major issues.

Nice Colors But Needs Programming
Reviewed By: Sephirous on 10 Apr 2018The colors that were chosen look great however there are a lot of errors that seem to occur while progressing through the game. The first noticeable glitch happens during transition. Most of the graphics become garbled causing a 2 second freeze where the player loses control of Samus. Later throughout the game enemies begin to glitch up as the new colors appear over them. At first the screens load in Grey Scale but after about 1 second the colors appear but not always correctly in some lower areas. The title screen also has an error where just above the word “Return” some of the R and E are missing with no color at all. At first glance I thought It may have something to do with the emulator I chose to use but later after some other choices the game still remained glitched and game play remained a disappointment. Last but not least, Upon reaching the Metroid Queen, The game completely blacked out ending in a crash. Once the game was reset all saved data was lost and the game started over from the beginning but this time completely garbled with no visible objects at all. Overall the idea sounded great, I got excited over this patch. But do I recommend it to others? I want to, But there is just to many glitches that still remain in it. A few glitches are okay to work with but having many glitches that render the game unplayable at times…Not so great.
