Game Description:

I guess in a sense, this game is like Zelda, but with ninjas instead and a yoyo for a weapon instead of a sword. So some hellish monk decides to resurrect some great, big and evil demon and you’re charged with the task of defeating them/it. Overall I’d say the game is pretty good with good music and a good story. I suppose the dungeon design was pretty uninspired as they kind of seemed the same, but it’s not a big deal.

Translation Description:

Yeah, this is by me. This patch isn’t bad for about 3 hours worth of work, but my opinion is biased ^_^. Anyway, it inserts an English font into the game, translates most of the Load/Delete/Copy game menu, and the name input screen. Oh yeah, and the status screen, too ^_^. It should be useful enough to try the game and get a feel for it. As far as dialogue goes, this game patch is currently useless =[. I was supposed to work on this with Mage from J2e Translations, but as far as I can tell, he hasn’t even been online for a while now. He told me he had a translator, but obviously, if I can’t talk to him, I can’t talk to his translator. I don’t speak Japanese, so no translator=no translation. But it’s kinda moot anyway, I lost most of my work and can’t remember how the pointers work or anything, anyway. If someone wants to use this patch as starting point for their own translation, feel free.

With no disrespect intended to the patch author, there’s absolutely no reason to download or play this (especially now that the aishsha/Stardust Crusaders translation exists). As the release notes indicate, only the name entry screen and one or two other bits are translated, and that name entry screen is a crude hack with letters out of order.

Everything else, including all dialogue, is a garbled mess of nonsense characters typical of translations in a very, very early alpha state. So don’t bother with this one – unless, I suppose, you’re a rabid completist or writing a history of early ROM hacking.
