Hack of Super Mario Bros. 3

This hack is a one world hack, filled with 28 new levels, 3 Power Up Pipes, and 2 different types of Mushroom Houses, and a Level Re-Do Spade “game”. There are TWO paths in this game, that allow the user to take control of his/her own destiny. The bottom path is the easiest, and the top path is very difficult. Both paths have their very own last levels, and both with their own Power Up Pipes. Take control of Mario and beat either path, or tackle both paths to bring the game to completion.

Hellish Fever Dream

Reviewed By: Mother Kojiro on 16 Nov 2017

I have a love of the bizarre, and this hack definitely scratches that itch. From the very beginning, it is, as my title says, a hellish fever dream. There are 2 possible paths through the game, and you can take them both on a single playthrough. Almost every level is some bizarre, disjointed… thing; it’s quite an experience. You’re dumped onto the world map with its gray grasses and sewage brown waters with the ice world music playing, and you’re already a little off-center, and then it punches you in the face with dark ice levels right off the bat. Soon thereafter, you’ll swim in a black lake with red ripples on the surface. You’ll run into Larry Koopa just hanging out in one of the stages, shooting at you, as he chases you from a path that runs parallel to your own. In fact, you’ll run into dozens of Larry Koopas, sometimes as many as 3 or 4 at once. He’ll show up to battle you in small arenas, he’ll show up in little boxes to shoot at you, and just about anywhere else you can imagine. There are a few Bowser fights, some of which have an end-level block buried beneath the bricks, so you have to have him dig down for you, and when you grab it? He just turns into a coin and you walk away. Even the music is in strange places; there’s a level where it sounds like someone’s playing the sound test on fast-forward, and the next level is completely silent. If you’re looking for a strange experience, this is it!
