Added the Readme from the download ZIP and corrected patching information. ROM checksums did not match the listed ROM -- may have been post-patching checksums at some point, as they do not appear in any database. I've added the correct info for the clean ROM.

Super Mario Advance 4 - All 38 e-Reader Levels

Hack of Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3

Description:

IMPORTANT: This “hack” was officially created by Nintendo and distributed on the Wii U’s eShop as a Virtual Console game. The patch attached to this page was simply converting the Game Boy Advance version of the game into the Wii U version, and contained embedded official content not present in the former version. Such content is illegal to redistribute due to copyright and has been removed.

Super Mario Advance 4 was well known for its failed e-Reader functionality, which provided some new items and levels to the game.

While the e-Reader failed in both USA and Europe, Japan saw a bunch of releases for this attachment, seeing 33 new levels!

With the Virtual Console release of the game, all of the 38 e-Reader levels that Super Mario Advance 4 had have been restored and are now available with these patches!

You will find an xdelta and IPS patch inside the .rar Just apply them to:

  • Super Mario Advance 4 - Super Mario Bros. 3 (USA, Australia) (Rev 1)

It’s also known as v1.1

Makes the game perfect in emulation

Reviewed By: hdofu on 02 Apr 2016

Finally with the use of codebreaker codes and this patch you can play the version of the game we should have had years ago. There were ways to apply save states that weren’t very elegant, would often fail on reloading or at random, levels would suddenly stop working in some emulators, with this thats all gone, it makes the game fun to play with a ton of new levels that nintendo stiffed us on when the game was new (if you actually bought the levels legitimately here available you needed to buy the walmart release for an extra promo level, 2 sets of card packs which were like 15 dollars each if I remember correct and an e-reader (about 40 bucks) an extra gba (at least 50 or 60 at the time) and you only got 12 levels, less then a 3rd of what japan got (poor europe got none)
