Description:
This is a color hack for Metroid II. I used the Game Boy Colorizer for this. As there have been other color hacks for this game. I found I had a different vision in mind. So I made this more luminescent and thematic version. I looked for a continued feeling from the original nes game. Please enjoy this color hack.
This is an .ips file. I have tested the files involved so all should be good. Any .ips file patcher program should work. Enjoy!

Moody
Reviewed By: BlazeHeatnix on 19 Jan 2016I appreciate what you were going for here. This is the planet SR388, the home of the Metroids, so this color hack aims to make it a bit creepier and moodier as opposed to the more colorful Metroid II DX hack. Every room and enemy on the planet is now colored a dark purple/bluish hue. In fact I think the only things not blue are the red doors and the Metroids, which are now completely red. Even your ship is affected by the planet’s “lighting”.
Samus looks better than the other hack where she looked sortof metallic yellow as opposed to the more appealing vibrant gold color here. However, I personally prefer the other hack, as it more clearly differentiates between water/lava etc, has colored enemies and more distinctive environments so it’s easier to tell exactly just where you are. However, it’s really a matter of preference as both are superior to the default B&W version anyway.
If you want to play Metroid II with a moodier aesthetic, try this hack out. I can’t say it’s better than Metroid II DX, but it has its own flavor.
