Hack of Super Mario Kart

Super Mario Kart makes its comeback!

This hack is a complete remake of SMK, featuring 20 new tracks. The AI also works, meaning you’ll have to work for that first place in GP mode.

For when you’re feeling more like hitting your friends with shells and bananas, there’s also 4 new battle mode courses for you and your friends to determine who is the champion of battle once and for all.

If you played the original SMK and felt that you needed more of a challenge or wanted more to experience, then download this hack. You won’t be disappointed.

Patch onto a headerless Super Mario Kart (U) ROM and enjoy.

A very nice hack but a little too difficult

Reviewed By: Ligeia on 22 Oct 2010

This is another hack which feels like a sequel to the original SMK, with nice brand new tracks. The tracks are generally very well designed (even if some are just a little too long for my taste), and the IA works well. Too well.

Here lies my main complain about this hack : it is a little too difficult. It seems like the IA speed has been beefed up, but the CPU characters go so fast that one single mistake (going on the grass for two seconds, for example) can make you lose your hard to gain first place. I’m not exactly a SMK noob, so I don’t think it’s just me. It might not have been a problem if several tracks, like Koopa Beach, didn’t force you to go on water, where you lose speed. It’s very very hard to finish these tracks at the first place. The tracks are also difficult in themselves, so the game gets very frustrating and infuriating at times. And I didn’t even tried the 150cc mode !

Apart from that, this hack is very well done.
