Metroids Have A Planet?

Reviewed By: MetroidMst on 03 Apr 2013

Final Stand is a very small hack, with a lot of danger and a lot of running away. Samus is virtually powerless against the Metroids on this planet, which make their appearance almost immediately. The hack is spent trying to collect some items to advance while surviving. No beam upgrades at all. Samus just has Missiles and her Power Beam to defend herself.

  • Small hack prevents it outliving its welcome
  • The ending

  • Extremely difficult
  • Extremely dark and hard to see

This hack is short and simple. Survive, and destroy the planet the Metroids are on. The big thing that could be a deal breaker with this hack is simple. It is deadly. You have Metroids, and no Ice Beam. You can damage them, but it is still a deadly hack. The saving factor for this is that the hack is short, and has an interesting ending.

The other thing of major note is that the hack is dark. It is pretty hard to see sometimes. I believe some emulators had issues with being able to see anything at all. I played it on SNES9x 1.51 rerecording and didn’t have that issue, but it has come up for some.

I do recommend the hack, but it really is a difficult short hack. So if that doesn’t sound like something you’d be interested in, skip it in that case, because it isn’t much more beyond that.
