Secret of Mana Variable Width Font Edition

Hack of Secret of Mana

Description:

This patch changes the font used in the game, and expands the story dialog.

Make sure the ROM has a header present or patch will not work.

Apparently the patch does not work with all copiers. Your best bet is to try and see for yourself if you plan to play this on real hardware.

A lovingly crafted take on Mana

Reviewed By: Spooniest on 28 May 2012

Cleanly coded and written with the tone of the original in mind, this resonating take on Mana doesn’t disappoint. FuSoYa and Relm are credited in-game, and the two of them have shown their work, for sure. The improvements are extremely subtle and enhance the experience to the point where Woolsey’s forced “excuse plot” comes together as something more in line with the game’s contemporaries on the SNES, such as Final Fantasy 6 or Chrono Trigger. I really can’t recommend it enough. Don’t miss it!
