I took a look at the Madara 2 ROM and saw the kanji sitting there nicely formatted, so I made a list of the kanji. I did it in only a few minutes so I might've made a mistake but I think it's probably 99% correct.
I took a quick look and the character 0x40 in your video is 行 which matches line 0x40 in the text file (if you start counting from 0 of course)
Wow, that's been quick!
I was mentally preparing myself to start searching the kanji manually by taking notes of them one by one while playing, hehehe. This will save me quite a few hours of work, I'm really grateful. Doesn't matter if the list isn't 100% correct, it gives me an approximate idea of how many there are: around 340. I feared there were gonna be more.
I was giving some thinking to all of this and it occurred to me I could add to the sidebar a little form where one could write the English translation and then send it to a database containing the lineID and the English translation (perhaps I could create a small API with a CRUD framework such as Laravel or Rails), and then implement some way of retrieving all those lines at once in "Wanderbar format" (that is, plain HTML with every dialog entry on a div element), or also retrieve it in JSON format, or any other. I think that'd be a relatively comfortable way of translating a game while playing it.
I'll see if I can put this idea into work. Thanks again!
