Translations: Gideon Does Stuff!
« on: November 17, 2008, 09:28:13 am »

Update By: KingMike

A few of Gideon's projects have seen full text translations in the last few month:

  • Slime Morimori Dragon Quest (DDS)
  • Hourai High (satsu)
  • Ladystalker (satsu)
  • Madara 2 (DDS)

Gideon also says we're going to love what's he got planned for Christmas. I don't know what it is either, but I'm going to trust him on it.

Great work DDS and satsu. I still haven't even finished Madara
Are we not men?

I've learned to never 'trust' Gideon; Slimy bastard. The most I'll do is 'curiously wonder' and 'be mildly intrigued'.

Although I DO love the Stalker series...

Well, you can take my word for it... it won't be Ys V...  :banghead:

I swear, I'm going to have to go hurt that boy if he doesn't get that menu system fixed so I can test my script.
It's a shame.  I kind of liked this place.

The translators never get the proper respect from the people who do not know.  Do not take it personally, or take it personally and kick said people where it counts =p

I have yet to look at lady stalker, but when I do I am sure I will be impressed.  For this I give you a copious amount of credit, unlike some ungrateful people!

Don't get me wrong.  I'm not taking anything away from anything you've contributed.  I've just been waiting almost two years (February 2007, Gid...!) for him to get back around to Ys V since I gave him the completed script.  Just expressing my SEARING FURY THAT WILL PURGE THE HEAVENS AND EARTH ALIKE WITH ITS CLEANSING FLA--err, mild annoyance.

Now you get why I mentioned Tom in every single update for Innocent Sin since March.

Oh I know, I love translators, of course unless anyone wants to retranslate Persona into Latin, I highly doubt my services will be called upon for such things =p

I do declare we need to implement and a holiday for translators!

If you ever did ya know slip, and not mention Tom, would he kick you?

We celebrate September 30 as Translator's Day down here. 'Course, it's because of this guy, and some folks don't believe in Saints. :p

Is Slime Morimori etc. the precursor to Rocket Slime on the DS? (Or is the latter a remake of it?) It looks practically identical.

As for Christmas... Star Ocean Blue Sphere plz?

That's actually a pretty cool idea.

Rocket Slime is the sequel, yes. Slime Morimori has more puzzles and such, and in my opinion is the better game; Rocket Slime had an increased focus on action and tank battles, almost to the exclusion of all else, which is kind of unfortunate... They're fun but come on, too much is just too much.

When I first saw the word “stuff”, I honestly expected to be tortured with CD-i imagery.

If the Christmas surprise is something like Soul Hackers or Romancing SaGa 2 (or even Star Ocean Blue Sphere) I will be very happy :)
Thanks for all the hard work, Gideon (and the translators too, of course).
