As far as we know, there is no other public spec document on SNES9x savestates. That's kind of sad being that SNES9x has been around for so many years. Yours was it and as Neil said, something is better than nothing. If you're really against it, we can remove it though.

Where is a hacker supposed to go who wants to hack SNES9x savestates for information?

Exactly... However, not all hackers are programmers for starters. Even if they are, having to wade through SNES9x source code just to find out where a particular register, RAM or VRAM location is in a savestate just seems wrong. I have to say I place blame on the developers really. It's not good practice in my opinion to create file formats and have no documentation on them.

You can of course use VSNES for this purpose as well, but you shouldn't be tied to a single third party program or source code to find information on a file format.

(Besides, SNES9x savestates give better HDMA info.)

I didn't use SNES9x for years, mostly as a moral thing after hacking their site, then on Gideon Zhi's recommendation, I tried it and came to realize that ZSNES's GUI sucks more ass than a professional ass sucker.

yeah yeah I know, and I'm forced to use it from time to time because of it, but I could never get it to run smoothly, unless I gave it very specific settings.  It's a real pain in the ass. ;/

Buh? Really? What's so bad abot the GUI?  I happen to like it.
