Oh, you meant that... not remember if I played with those; I doubt.

Are you saying you're translating from the English version? Then the translation will loose accuracy. :/

Can't really be of much help; sorry.

Actually, we're translating the fantastic PSP translation, and then copying the translated text into the PSX version (of course, we're working on the PSP version too). ;)
Anyway, don't worry 'bout it!
We will probably release our tools after finishing our work, though. ;)

translated for non italians: it's just an help request :D

you all sadnes are welcome to auritech.eu forums... maybe you might add something special to your translated version ;)
We can help you with that text compression, if you need. :P

Anyway, it's a nice thing to know you're Italian... new Italian romhackers are quite rare, nowadays. :D
Gemini, too, is Italian.

(scrivo in inglese perché la regia del sito dice che non si può scrivere in altra lingua... :P )

Or you could just continue posting here. ;) But I guess Msn/AIM/ICQ/whatever would be better.

Thanks to Gemini's help, I was able to decompress the last part of a sprite.

Everything below the portrait was previously inaccessible.

I'm working on an app now that is basically just a clone of Merlin Avery's FFT Sprite Manager, but with support for decompression/recompression.

I modified Gemini's disassembled algorithm, and I was able to get more data:

Code: [Select]
def upper(b): return (b&0xF0) >> 4
def lower(b): return b&0x0F
def SprDec(source):
  temp = []
  # Build a list of ints from the nibbles
  for i in range(len(source)):
    temp.append(upper(ord(source[i])))
    temp.append(lower(ord(source[i])))
  i = 0
  result = []
  while i < len(temp):
    if temp[i] != 0:
      result.append(temp[i])
    elif (i + 1) < len(temp):
      s = temp[i+1]
      l = s
      if s == 0 and (i + 2) < len(temp):
        l = temp[i+2]
        i += 1
      elif s == 7 and (i + 3) < len(temp):
        l = temp[i+2] + (temp[i+3] << 4)
        i += 2
      elif s == 8 and (i + 4) < len(temp):
        l = temp[i+2] + (temp[i+3] << 4) + (temp[i+4] << 8)
        i += 3
      i += 1
      # pad a bunch of 0's
      for j in range(l): result.append(0)
    i += 1
  i = 0
  # flip each pair of bytes
  while (i+1) < len(result):
    j = result[i]
    result[i] = result[i+1]
    result[i+1] = j
    i += 2
  return result

Hey, awesome!

I'm looking for sprites of the new characters from FFT:Lion War for an update at the FFCompendium. Basically I just need the face pic and a regular 3/4 view of Balthier, Luso, Bremondt, Aliste, Deathknight Argath, and male/female Dark Knights and Onion Knights. (That's 9 total, meaning 18 pics).

Any of you guys be able to help? It would be much appreciated.

I posted this link on the auritech forums already. These are the spritesheets generated by the script I linked in my last post. You might have to piece some of the body parts together to get the images you want.

Gah, that's going to take some image editing... would it be at all possible to get them in bigger sizes, though? They're quite hard to see...

I just wanted to let everyone know that the editor has been updated to version v0.236 which can be downloaded HERE

One of the staff may want to update the LINK we have hosted here as well as create an additional link in the PSP section as this editor now has psp functionality.

Special T, you or anybody interested can update the entry to the latest version yourself. Use the [ EDIT ] link on the entry page. It's already listed as multi-platform and the description references PSP, so no additional entry needs be created.

thank you for the heads up, but when i click on the edit button to update the file URL it looks the file is hosted here locally on Romhacking.net, should I try in the URL of the file off site?

Yes. The user provides a URL to the new file. Upon approval, it's automatically copied to our servers and the database updated accordingly. That's how all files work on this site that users can edit. Clicking the ? icon next to the field would also provide information.

Quote
Help on 'Filename' field.

This field is for a URL(web link) to the file you have for this entry. It is preferred that your file is stored in a compressed archive format. ZIP is the most common, RAR and 7ZIP are also common alternatives. RHDN's submission form cannot retrieve files from your computer, you MUST upload them somewhere else first. URLs to the files must be a direct link, meaning when that URL is entered in a browser, a download should start. URLs to sites such as Rapidshare/Megaupload are not acceptable and these submissions will be rejected outright. Additional Help on File Submissions along with recommended places to upload your files for the submission can be found HERE.
