The Japanese version of the NES fan favorite Casino Kid has a much more involved story. I know the last opponent is supposed to be this mysterious guy, but it turns out to be someone the main character knows.

I couldn't find a text dump of this part, but could someone translate what the dialogue says when you beat the last opponent? (No google translations please.)

Yeah, nothing particularly informative there, though it suggests this guy is the main character's gambling rival/friend/friendly rival. This was originally a licensed game based on some manga, right? Presumably you're supposed to know who he is already. Obviously I haven't read it, so I'm afraid I can't help you there.

By the way, thanks for all the Game Gear translations. I wish people would do more of them, such as one for Shining Force Gaiden 1, which I'm actually shocked no one has translated yet.

Can you translate another bit of the ending that I missed?

It a scene after the credits, where the player and the rival shake hands.

The Game Gear version would ultimately be almost the same thing but with worse graphics and sound, which is probably why no one's ever bothered with it.

Thanks for the reply and the PM. Your translation was just fine, since it didn't need to be a word-for-word literal translation or localization. I just needed to know the gist of it
At least now I understand the ending. I thought Nikaidou was the player, but it turns out he was the last boss. That's actually a nice twist. They could have just copied the story from the manga and no one would have complained.

As for Shining Force Gaiden, yeah, I assumed that was the reason why no one had attempted a translation for the game.

I always completely overlooked it since it was not listed as "untranslated" in spinner8's list, but now that I know about it I might try dumping the script at any rate.

EDIT: Hrm, maybe not. I made a partial table file based on the tiles view in Emukon but I'm not getting hits for text from the game. I tried relative searching and no go either. Makes me assume the script is compressed.
