To tell you the truth, classifying game music into a genre is difficult. To me, these songs remember me a little of some Alan Parson's songs, the ones in which they mixed an orchestra with their usual light-prog style. Just a few days ago I was listening to one song from an Italian prog-rock band called Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, called "Traccia II": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f9ZqUiqB7HA that might perhaps sound similar to the songs you've posted.

It's true, it's very similar! but there are parts in the song of the shrek game, notably from 00:00 to 00:25 and 01:01 to 1:14 which is very similar to its music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncWwkhnL0Sc&t=31s (the begging) and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4vR4Z2YNT8 (at 1:36) or this bgm : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zfz8Ph-9ng&t=245s

it looks like it's the same type of music but it doesn't seem to be celtic ...

What do you think ?

Yes, it's hard to include it into a specific style. It's like the musical works of John Williams or Jerry Goldsmith, that people use to call "movie music" or something like this.

I know it's kind of offtopic, but there's a few disks I'd like to use this thread to recommend. I love prog-rock and similar styles because musicians from that genre use to be fantasy and sci-fi lovers, and often have done conceptual works in which all the songs of the record form a complete story, as if it was some kind of book or movie but using only music and lyrics to tell the story. We could say that prog-rock is to music what jrpgs are to videogames  ;D ;D ;D

Two records I've enjoyed for its storytelling are, for instance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhtAh3U_sc

This one would be some kind of ambient-newage-electronica mix. It tells a story of a fish-shaped starship found in orbit around Saturn, and the ancient encoded writings that researchers find inside which tell of the origins of humans in another planetary system.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBvjjzAkz-I&list=PLxzSZG7g8c8zoUeLh9L8deFQT019KIkwq

This other one is more prog-metal oriented, in the vein of Dream Theater and the likes. Tells the story of a group of people from different periods of history who find themselves transported to a castle from which they have to manage to exit alive and find out who took them there.

This post has ended being a little longer than I thought, sorry  ;D

It occurs to me that you could try playing the music to Shazam or a similar music-identification app, and see it if manages to come up with something similar.
This signature is an illusion and is a trap devised by Satan. Go ahead dauntlessly! Make rapid progres!
