NES/Famicom Hacking
« on: July 18, 2020, 12:12:49 pm »
Hello,

I am extremely new to hacking and to this site. I am interested in translating a Famicom game into English. I notice a lot of the tools are from 2000 or earlier and won't run on a 64 bit Windows OS. What are some good recommendations to get started as well as 64-bit compatible tools you might recommend to start with? Anything that can automatically convert hexadecimal values to legible text (Japanese) would be ideal if it exists. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Mr. Peese

Which tools are you looking at?  There are indeed many tools with that problem, but there are just as many that lack that problem. (And under modern Windows, DOSBox is still an option.)

That is the whole point of a table file.
